The left stereotypes the people that are Republican or just in voted for Trump as racists and intolerant. The weird thing is the left are the ones having protests, talking about seceding from the union and wanting a recount of only 3 states Trump won (like her count would matter at all). They are on social media crying (literally), talking of how they want to leave the country and wondering how they will tell their 12 and 8 year old kids about Trump as President-elect.

When Obama was elected I do not recall all these racist, intolerant people protesting, talk of secession, demand recounts, crying about the election, talk of leaving the country, or wondering how tell their kids we have a black President-elect.

Funny to me that when the Repubs lose, they complain a lot but they act like adults for the most part. When the Libs lose they act like a bunch of spoiled whiny kids throwing a tantrum.

LOL. Rightwing Southerners have been talking secession for the entire Obama presidency. Many, many strings of posts here on that very topic.

I all for allowing New York and California to leave and form The People's Republics of NYC. We can even be magnanimous and let them to continue to fly over us by treaty.

Action and discussion are not the same thing, especially message board discussion

Are you implying that the left is currently in the process of secceeding from the union? What action is the left currently taking that will facilitate their secession?

EDIT: Summary of conversation

EDIT AGAIN: Looks like OP and follow up post were different people. Missed that originally, my bad.

Many people acted like asses on message boards, as they do everyday and will forever.

But this stuff now is happening through mainstream outlets, actual news anchors crying, newspaper articles, etc. It's different, and to say it's not is dishonest.

If an actual news anchor cried when Obama got elected (and not from happiness), would that person have kept their job?

The answer is no.

While the left has been far more extreme this go around, it is incorrect to say there was none of it when Obama was elected. I distinctly remember internet petitions going around where people in Texas were talking about seceding.

And that's when the Tea party protests got going full-swing as well. Of course, the TP protests were nothing like the SJW protests. The TP people picked up trash after their events and usually got permits.

California group files petition in secession effort

Nothing will come of this of course, simply showing people taking action is different than making comments/venting on an anonymous message board.
People discussing hypothetical succession on tigerdroppings? (Oh No!) I saw no rioting or petition paperwork in Baton Rouge when Obama was elected.

Can I call you out for making a bad call out? The post you responded to was my first in this thread

Pretty much. Remember the Tea Party stuff started when Bush bailed out the banks and the auto companies. Obama just doubled down.

We certainly didn't have complete mental breakdowns and need safe rooms with coloring books.

Trump isn't even president yet, and liberals have already surpassed conservatives in their overreaction to an election result.

You can. I left my original response up there with only an edit below clarifying because I deserve to be called out. After all, how hard is it to just look at the username before responding? To difficult for me I guess lol. I'll abide by the call out

What's your metric of evaluating that, and what is the behavioral spectrum?

It's easy to stereotype the left. All nut cases!!

I guess you see what you choose to..

According to conservatives on social media, “Republicans have jobs and responsibilities” and therefore couldn’t engage in civil disobedience to voice their discontent with the 2008 and 2012 elections. With this perception of the Obama elections and subsequent claims of “ Republican acceptance,” Trump supporters are now demanding the same “fairness” for Donald J. Trump’s presidency, “We sat through do nothing politics for 8 years, the least they can do is go shut up and sit in the corner for 8 themselves,” on Trump supporter explained.
However, these perceptions do not reflect what actually followed the election of our country’s first black president, much less the difference between why people are protesting Donald J. Trump’s presidency as compared to Barack Obama’s presidency.

Obama’s election in 2008 was preceded and followed by violent attacks and property destruction targeted against minorities.

Kaylon Johnson, an African American campaign worker for Obama, was physically assaulted for wearing an Obama T-shirt in Louisiana following the 2008 election. The three white male attackers shouted “frick Obama!” and “**** president!” as they broke Johnson’s nose and fractured his eye-socket, requiring surgery.

More frequently, Obama’s presidency was marked by effigies of our first black president hanging from nooses across the country, for example in Kentucky, Washington State, and Maine, or being burned around the world. What Trump supporters fail to remember is that following Obama’s election, property was destroyed across the country, for example in Pennsylvania, Texas, and North Carolina, and a predominately black church was torched in Massachusetts.

In 2008, anti-Obama protesters lashed out against minorities because of their discontentment with a black man being voted into the office of president for the first time in our nation’s history. Conversely, in 2016, anti-Trump protesters are holding mostly peaceful demonstrations because of their discontentment with a man, who has ostracized minorities, being voted into the office of president.

And while anti-Trump protesters have engaged in mostly peaceful demonstrations against the president-elect, pro-Trump supporters have been responsible for a wave of attacks against Muslims, Latinos, blacks, and the LGBT community.

According to Mark Potok, senior fellow at the Southern Poverty Law Center civil rights group, there haven’t been “such a rash of hate crimes in the United States since Barack Obama was elected America’s first black president in 2008.” Muslim women are reporting having their hijabs ripped from their heads, while immigrant children are being bullied. Trump’s name and slogan, “Make America Great Again,” are being found alongside swastikas and anti-minority messages in graffiti around the nation.

Ultimately, demonstrators are not protesting Trump because he is Republican. They aren’t protesting him because he is a white male. These protests are because of the bigotry his campaign has emboldened and the fear of discrimination his presidency has the capacity to perpetuate.

You're right. Burning down black churches and effigies of Obama is different. Also hanging nooses from trees from your "non-racist" folks was cool.

Yep, some college-age anarchists really embody my retired democrat judge's views. Nice call

same as OP's. We're about to get our country back from that Kenyan, Muslim, socialist dicksucking coon, Obama and his count monkey man-wife, Moochelle. I'd like to personally congratulate everyone for how we've handled ourselves with grace and class in opposition to that tyrant for eight years.
