Notes for a White Kid in University: An Introduction to the Blindingly Obvious
A white man’s stick hut. We began building these things in 1137.
The Larrge Hadron Collider, a gigantic particle accelerator at CERN, in Switzerland, a massive instrument for research in subatomic physics. It is one of the greatest and most challenging projects of humanity. The Japanese could do this if they wanted to badly enough and soon, perhaps, the Chinese. They didn’t. The technology is a white man’s show, starting from Athens 2500 years ago. Are you sure you should be ashamed of this?

That's the core question. Compared to whites, minorities haven't done jack squat. Do they REALLY want an honest debate on this matter?
PS - To be fair, there are too many SJW loser types like toddy & losh who agree with militant minorities on this subject.

I'm ashamed of many things I have done and not done over the years. Being white isn't one of them. I do feel fortunate for being born white but it's not like it's a lottery ticket or anything.

It's crazy that an article like this even needs to be written. Whites are the only people on earth expected to be ashamed and apologize for the sins of ancestors. I don't know anyone, I don't think, who seeks "white supremacy". In a country that just saw a two term black president, it's amazing that this phrase has even been dusted off and made mainstream so quickly.

I don't think this is the core issue. It doesn't have to be a pissing match. The core issue is, why should ANY race or ethnicity not be proud of their past? Why should ANY generation be expected to apologize for history?

Thomas Elkins—modern toilet
In addition to other inventions, Elkins created the chamber commode in 1872. It included a mirror, washstand, mirror, and more.
Philip Emeagwali—world’s fastest computer
Emeagwali was born in Nigeria in 1954. Although he came of age during a brutal civil war, he earned many advanced degrees including a Ph.D. in scientific computing. In 1989, he created the world’s fastest computer.
Frederick Jones—refrigeration machine
Jones was a self-taught engineer with a number of important inventions. His most notable invention was a refrigeration machine used to transport blood, food, and medicine during World War II.
Lewis Latimer—light bulb
Born in 1848 to runaway slaves, Latimer became an inventor and engineer. In addition to his invention of one of the earliest air conditioning units, he assisted in the development of some of the world’s most important inventions, including the light bulb and the telephone.
Alexander Miles—improved elevator
Known as “the wealthiest colored man in the Northwest,” Miles created an automatic device to open and close elevator doors. Because of his invention, we are able to enjoy this modern luxury.
Garrett Morgan—traffic light, gas mask
Born in Kentucky in 1877, Morgan is the inventor of something many utilize everyday, the traffic signal. He created this after witnessing so many accidents on busy urban intersections. In addition to this, he created the gas mask which grew in popularity when it was used to aid workers after an underground explosion.

Williams was born in Pennsylvania in 1856. He would go on to become a physician and surgeon. In 1891, he founded the first integrated hospital, and just two years later, he became the first person to successfully complete open-heart surgery.

Gotta tell you....while I am proud, happy and satisfied with being white...one of my heroes is George Washington Carver. Peanut butter......maaaaaaaan. Could eat it out of the jar with a spoon!

This in a nutshell. Blacks should be proud of being black. they have accomplished much and have overcome much. Just as whites have accomplished much.
Let's be real...while most of us on here may not know anyone that wants or advocates for white supremacy, there are those out there that do just that. just as there are those that advocate for black supremacy. Those are the fringe elements and need to be kept that way and, eliminated. Not as in killed, but as in made to understand that everybody should work together.
We have allowed politicians and politics divide us and create animosity.

I don't advocate for anything "supremacy." But I will go on record as saying that I believe in distinct cultural and ethnographic differences which CANNOT be disclaimed. We cannot push "unity" and "tolerance" and hope that these statist semantics will lead us anywhere but hell. Real progress starts with truth and accountability, not utopian ideals.
