It's Fox News. It's not shocking. You don't see this board running to post every stupid thing MSNB --
Carry on.
Carry on.

They obviously shouldn't have done that, but I can't imagine it making a difference one way or the other.

They are exit polls, every network has them...seriously, this is a slam on Fox?

Its not a slam, but its a breach of protocol. Hard numbers like this aren't supposed to be shown until polls close.

Isn't that the point of exit polls? To have a half-assed prediction before the official number is presented?
Posted on 11/4/14 at 5:56 pm to DEANintheYAY
Hurr dee durr, I didn't know who I was going to vote for until I watched the news and they said someone was leading 50%-49%....
There's convention here amongst some news organizations not to broadcast early data before the polls close but it's not a law.

NO, not at all.

I remember Conservatives shitting themselves when the big 3 networks did this during Bush/Gore.
Posted on 11/4/14 at 5:58 pm to DEANintheYAY
CBS did that shite for Florida during Bush/Gore shamelessly hoping the more conservative panhandle would say frick it.

Hey, remember when all the networks called FL for Gore when Bush was not only leading the hard count but polls in the more rural panhandle were still open?
Good times.
Good times.

Has nothing to do with deciding on HOW to vote, but rather IF to vote.
And I never said it was the law, but rather a breach of protocol.
Exit poll data is more useful once weighted and used to look at the mood of the electorate. Exit poll data, especially unweighted, is pretty garbage for election results.

Who sits at home watching election coverage not having voted yet with only an hour before the polls close?
