Are you claiming this was a consensus opinion of the informed population when email was developing? I've never heard anyone claim that......until now.

ETA: I just googled to see how I could have missed the claim you're making. It didn't happen. That's how I missed it.....

Never, ever, ever confuse a great sales pitch with the actual facts....

It's just not polite!

It's incredible the liberties wiki takes with facts and the truth. Amazing, really.....

Bitcoin isn't sold as a non-fiat currency. At least it hasn't ever been to me.

The first I ever heard of Bitcoin, it was a fiat currency that couldn't have its supply inflated.

I thought we were talking about bitcoins?

They are completely safe for the person who ends up with the actual currency....

2) You just insert your dollars into the machine and get bitcoins... So how do you claim these on the back end, I thought they were stored on your pc or ledger?
Don't forget your transaction fees to convert the bitcoins to Euros and Euros to bitcoins. This is a money making venture, not a free service. And the ATM will also have access to money in your bank account if the ATM can get the proper networking with banks since the debit card will be linked to your bank account.

Do you know how small those fees are?

Its supply is being inflated every day and will be until into the early 22nd century.

quote:

Bitcoin derives it from a complex, and essentially permanent, set of rules which issue new bit coins at a steadily declining rate until the early 22nd century, when the total quantity of bitcoins in circulation will be fixed forever.

Russian. I know how the currency works. It is capped at 21 million BTC which will be reached in the year 2140 and there are about half of the maximum BTC's in existence right now.

I'm just telling you how it was sold to me.

Every link I came up with was just the opposite of what wiki was claiming. They were all about how email and e-billing and e-payments were going to crush the Post Office's revenues and there was nothing the Post Office could do about it.

Maybe we should just take what wiki posts from now on and believe the opposite. We will have a greater chance of getting it correct if we do.....

And that is why people are skeptical about Bitcoins!

It will collapse and turn into virtual dust long before then. My guess is within the next 2 or 3 years.

And, yes, you may bookmark this post.....

If a product, or service, represents it's worth intrinsically, it does NOT need to be "sold to someone"....

Selling requires convincing someone to purchase, which means it may, or may not, represent a value.

A brand new concept does need to be "sold" so someone.

Nothing is intrinsically worth anything and if BTC attempted to claim that the main people who support it would question it.

You know what they say about laying a million bricks and then fricking a goat. You're never going to be known as a bricklayer.
