Appears we're off and running.

quote:

Growing unrest in Ferguson led to the arrests of more protesters Thursday night as residents grow wearier ahead of the town’s grand jury decision on whether or not to indict officer Darren Wilson on charges in the shooting death of 18-year-old Michael Brown.

Police did not confirm an official tally. The Chicago Tribune reported at least six were arrested.

Protesters blocked the street in front of the police station and taunted police officers until they were pushed back by the officers in riot gear, the Wall Street Journal reported.

These drawn out "announcements" the chief has made just made this situation worse. They need to announce to decision today. Everyone should have been in place for today. Waiting days will just make it worse.

I agree with you. They're making things infinitely worse by dragging it out and reporting on every single move being made in that town.

This is no correct answer or reply that would settle these people Down.

Their mind is made up and they're being rallied on by equally foolish out of towers looking to stir the pot.

I disagree, people are raring to go. Protesters have been bussed in from out of town in anticipation. Announce now and we see a repeat of before.

They need to draw it out as long as possible and keep it out of the news. I'm talking months. shite like this blows over, it's all emotionally based. Out of town protesters are not going to stick around long. Then when it's the last thing on everyone's mind, announce it on blistering cold February day. Preferably a bad winter storm.

You don't pour gas on a smoking fire. Wait for it to fizzle out.

I disagree, by stringing it out the police can pick off the outside agitators. There still will be several small protests but not the full riot that is expected. The police can concentrate their efforts on the smaller protests and get a better handle on who the leaders are. Finally, the sheep who show up at the protests will get tired of it and go away.

The announcement should be put off until the coldest day in February.

Arrest percentages will be high it appears. FOX just said there were only about 40 protestors last night on the streets. Chicago Tribune reported there were six arrests. 15% arrests on a calm night.

Don't know yet even a rough estimate of how many protesters will show up. If last night's arrests are any indication of the trouble yet to come then the paddy wagons will be needing a tire change before this is over.

So they're protesting / blocking the street in front of the police station before an announcement is even made?

This is not about Michael Brown anymore, IMO. These out of town agitators think they're starting a revolution, or WTF ever they want to call it. I have a feeling that things are going to get very bad this time.

Agreed. They are trying to wait them out. Make them spend their money and waste their time. Thin the herd a bit I think.

This isn't going to be as bad as you guys want it to be.

There won't be any looting.

There won't be any shooting.

It's cold, and that will hinder the desire to rampage.
