The feeding america commercials got my attention, because I knew there was no way it was legit the numbers they were stating.
quote:

Food insecurity” is a statistic designed to mislead. USDA defines food insecurity as being “uncertain of having, or unable to acquire, enough food to meet the needs of all their members because they had insufficient money or other resources for food.” USDA noted: “For most food-insecure households, the inadequacies were in the form of reduced quality and variety rather than insufficient quantity.”

The definition of “food insecure” includes anyone who frets about not being able to purchase food at any point. If someone states that they feared running out of food for a single day (but didn’t run out), that is an indicator of being “food insecure” for the entire year — regardless of whether they ever missed a single meal. If someone wants organic kale but can afford only conventional kale, that is another “food insecure” indicator.

quote:

A Journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics study concluded that “food insecure” adults are far more likely to be obese than “food secure” adults — indicating that a shortage of food is not the real health problem. According to the Journal of the American Medical Association, “seven times as many (low-income) children are obese as are underweight.”

quote:

The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine have criticized USDA for how these statistics are contorted from a measure of household "security" into a misleading estimate that millions of individuals go hungry.

Don't believe the feeding america commercials. they are meant to shock you out of money.

On the other hand, a "healthier america" would make more sense to organize.

I don't really believe for a moment that there are droves of kids and adults going hungry in the US - unless it is the fault of the caregiver or a lack of responsibility in the adults themselves.

One of my customers with an EBT card was suffering from food insecurity so badly he had to get his stomach stapled to keep from gaining any more fat cells.

If you go hungry in America you deserve to die.

Healthy eating is expensive though and the food that the "poor" eat is awful for you.

Nobody knows how to cook from the basic staples anymore which is healthy and cheap so they buy cheap processed microwave foods.

Let Darwinism work!

Seriously, if anybody managed a herd of any sort and allowed the lesser animals to produce in the same proportion as the worst of our society does they'd go broke in a couple of generations.

Food insecurity replaced hunger as the preferred propaganda.

The best way is to go to the CDC stats on number of Americans who die from starvation every year. When persons who have medical issues preventing them from absorbing nutrients are removed, the number is in the single digits every year.

Well I live really close a Whole Foods, and would prefer to be able to buy it all there. But since there too expensive, I go to Walmart, Kroger, and Aldis instead. Apparently, I'm food insecure.

Also, I end up buying Elijah Craig bourbon beside it's still good but cheaper. I would rather buy Woodford Reserve or something. I think that should count as Food Insecure too.
