Those of us who work in law enforcement recognize that you private sector folks have a rather MILD idea of what actual risk is.
Hugs out there to Officer Fife and the boys. May you withstand the increasingly violent tendencies of our criminal class, until you can partake in a comfortable taxpayer-funded full early retirement somewhere in Florida. Mad Respect. Until then, keep locking up the Bad Guys and keep those parking tickets flowing!
Of course, the more mild
form of risk that I referred to, was the risk of CAPITAL, in which millions of small business owners like myself have taken through the years to create the tax base in which public sector employees like you require to have jobs in the first place. When we succeed, we provide the employment and tax base that every community requires to fund their local and State governments. We take financial risks that often result in total economic destruction for ourselves and our families, sometimes based on events beyond our control. When we fail, they don't requisition our paper clips,or make a 3% cut, they actually seize our bank accounts and our homes.
And at that point we start anew, with no expectation that any of our fellow citizens owe us a damn thing, let alone a living.
This is not something I would expect a Federal employee to understand, nor would I even really wish you to understand. America needs the less ambitious, those who trade industry achievement for job security, to function. We can't all be show horses, we need plow horses too. The Yin and The Yang, if you will. Maybe the best amongst us, exhibit a bit of both. No doubt.
You need us to survive. And we need you as well, but to be of the PROPER SIZE
so as not to CHOKE US
and hence YOU OUT OF EXISTENCE
