Beware the Shiny “Booms” – Uranium One Scandal to Nowhere?
quote:
There’s something unfortunately familiar in the pattern of explosive controversies and headlines-that-go-nowhere… The DC UniParty always defends itself. The latest scandal du jour seems to surround the criminal enterprise known as “Uranium One”.
quote:
There’s something afoot that would lead this Uranium One story toward sucking all of the oxygen out of other stories. As noted in historical and political context:
Beware the voices that head to the front of the pitchforks, for they might intend to steer the destination.
There’s just something sketchy, from a political perspective, about the sales and promotion of the Uranium One story. Senator Chuck Grassley’s inclusion within it does nothing to dissuade the Flak and Countermeasures concerns of a story well over two years old.
Politically speaking, the deployment of countermeasures is a tactic used by professional politicians in Washington DC, along with their fed media stories, to counter incoming public inquiry and protect themselves from anger expressed by the electorate.
Weaponized government takes action and creates victims. Beyond the strategy – the countermeasures are politicians assigned a role to control the incoming righteous inquiry from voters who find out about the weaponized or corrupt governmental action.
1.) The electorate become aware of a political issue or action; often illegal.
2.) The electorate become angry.
3.) DC needs to protect itself.
4.) Countermeasures are assigned and deployed to delay, obfuscate and create the illusion of investigation of the illegal governmental action.
5.) Electorate watch.
6.) Investigation goes nowhere.
7.) Countermeasure deployment successful.
Repeat.

Rarely, if ever does any investigation lead to any charges of significance. If anyone is ever charged, it's a low level player. And for that, we get hosed as taxpayers.

Right. The DC UniParty protects itself.
The last investigation that netted anyone of a little significance was Scooter Libby.

quote:It's interesting that CTH used congressional investigations as it support. It's almost as if the legislative branch has a more limited scope, power, and jurisdiction in their investigations that makes it more difficult. Hmmm

Because maybe this new shiny object is being investigated by congress?
I find I kind of funny how tCTH seems to trigger you and a couple of other posters on this board. To me they are just another political blog among hundreds with an alternative opinion.

Some loser starts a blog, says what people want to hear, and states everything as fact (not really opinion), and he gets big following whereas people who offer much more rational and informative views get ignored. It's on both sides, and it only reinforces the toxic state of politics.

I’ve seen a lot of innuendo followed by declarative statements regarding what went on with Uranium One.
I don’t know if I’ve seen anything I’d call evidence. I’ve been out of the loop here recently due to work so maybe I missed it, but could that be the reason it hasn’t caught legs?
Show me a definitive smoking gun and then you may have something, but at this point it looks like right-wing blogs crying wolf again.

They only start an investigation if there is a continual uproar over an issue, knowing that the investigation will outlast the uproar. And when the final findings are released years later, even if they find anything, they'll claim that it didn't rise to the level of criminal activity and was simply incompetence.

Might net somebody, but the Clintons believe that they are teflon and they are probably right, absent any super incriminating video of shenanigans.

Since both Clintons are lawyers, they know how to cover their tracks.

Sundance has been whiffing a lot on politics. He needs to stick to economic issues

It isn't that evidence of illegal activity is never found. It is already known. Just nobody is ever prosecuted because the people that would be doing the prosecuting are the pawns of the people that they should be putting in jail.
There is plenty of evidence of Hillary being a traitor and breaking numerous laws but hasn't been booked yet. It really is as simple as that.
This is why I have been telling everyone celebrating Trumps victory last year to hold off on all the parties because he has all of congress and APPOINTED judges to deal with.
