A Kentucky medical center is mandating all of their employees complete diversity training after a man came dressed to an annual costume party wearing a mask depicting President Barack Obama in what appears to be a straight jacket.

Jennie Stuart Medical Center is also asking their employees to refrain from wearing political, religious, ethnic and gender based Halloween costumes,

So person can't come dressed as any character that depicts a male or female and only inanimate objects?
Wouldn't,"Wonderwoman" or " Batman" fall into the category of gender based?

Probably would have been promoted if it were Bush instead of Obama.

I saw a episode of," community" where they were spoofing the idea of," non offensive" school mascots, and the community college decided to name themselves the," humans." Their mascot was a person cloaked head to toe in a white body stocking. And even this was controversial because of the choice of the color white. This is where we are headed.

I'd love to be forced to take a diversity training course.

Since I don't care about a job anymore, I'd love to make some facilitator's life miserable until I got booted.

If the same guy had showed up in a George Washington costume with exaggerated wooden teeth, would this have been cause for sensitivity training as well?

WTF does dressing up as Barack Obama in a straight jacket have to do with (I'm assuming) racial insensitivity? Can only black people have mental health issues?

The world we live in has become so simple minded.

I would have a blast.
I would do nothing but challenge all of the presumptions and myths at every turn.

I would be untamable.

Would the Devil be considered religious? If you dressed as a cat, would that remind people of the Egyptian goddess Bastet? If an LSU fan shows up as a tiger, how is that not Devi, Hindi god dressed in a tiger skin. Tide fans dressed up like an elephant could remind some people of Ganesh.

To avoid gender based costumes, you could dress up as something asexual like a flatworm. However, some might think you're going for a giant penis look which totally negates your non-sex motivation.

Vampires generally show sexual oppression over female victims. Who's ever heard of a female werewolf? In this case, I think it would be allowable for a female to dress as a werewolf to break through sexual barriers unless someone perceives her as dressing up like Anubis, the Egyptian dog god which would violate the religious qualifier.

Best to just not dress up.

Going as the Greendale Human Being is acceptable.

But if I didn't dress up and came to work wearing my usual shirt, pants, and tie then I am playing directly into the gender stereotypes of what is "acceptable men's clothing." By wearing a "power tie" I am indirectly insinuating that I have power over my fellow co-workers, especially the women.

Thankfully I work for a large non-union petrochemical industrial contractor. I get to bash Obama daily and it actually makes me look good.

If it were Bush hanging from a noose with big ears and a dunce cap with a straight jacket on: with oil wells and war tanks to the right and left of him.

It would be politically correct and funny and no 'diversity' training would be called for? amirite?

I think the black panthers was a funny touch up to the costume theme.

Bye bye freedoms...

Taking them away one step at a time.

Any doubt now what the purposes of PC are?

But if costume had ridiculed for President Bush, you can bet there would have been no issue.
