The Education Department announced Friday it is formally rescinding Obama-era guidance on how schools should handle sexual assaults under Title IX federal law.

Education Secretary Betsy DeVos announced earlier this month that her department was concerned that previous guidance denied proper due process to those accused.

Good. Those policies were straight out of the Spanish Inquisition.

Lowering evidentiary standards to get a guilty verdict is crazy.

This is good news. Men shouldn't be assumed guilty and kicked out without evidence to prove wrong-doing. Anyone can make an accusation.

Considering there was more than one case where the male got expelled after getting sexually assaulted, I think you have the wrong genitalia in mind.

Good.

It should be fun to watch the libtards melt over this one. They will surely have no less than half a dozen false sexual assault claims spreading before next week as a result of this move.

I'm hoping this opens those schools up to more lawsuits.

Those kangaroo courts need to vanish.

College administrations should not be involved in criminal investigations.

Bruh 1 in 5 women are sexually assaulted in college as opposed to only 1 in 71 men. Check your privilege

what you don't seem to understand is that these rules actually encouraged NOT reporting of sex crimes to the actual police. Schools were simply kicking men who were accused of such out and moving on.

Now , the cases will be referred to you know actual law enforcement , AND the accused will receive their Constitutional rights. Gee the fair and right thing to do? NO wonder liberals oppose it.

So that makes it ok to assume guilt based on accusations alone?

Sexual assault is serious and there's a special place in hell for those that commit it. That being said, men were targeted and expelled when the "assaultee" would testify that sex was consensual. The power under old rules was put in the accuser's hands, not the victim's.

That link shows how insane this has all become.

Academia is sick and there is no clear way to fix it.
