The re-tooling plan was a result of the $53 million fourth-quarter loss reported by the cereal maker and is expected to include the closure of 39 distribution centers affecting roughly 1,100 workers across the country.

The cereal giant’s financial troubles coincided with its decision to cut its advertising with Breitbart News at the end of 2016, thereby snubbing Breitbart’s 45,000,000 readers.

In November, Kellogg’s announced that Breitbart News’s conservative readers are not “aligned with our values as a company.”

While the decision by Kellogg’s to cease advertising made virtually no revenue impact on Breitbart.com, it did represent an escalation in the war by companies like Target and Allstate against conservative customers whose values propelled Donald Trump into the White House.

Another reason companies should stay apolitical

Wait, you honestly think this has to do with the Breitbart boycott?

Then Kellogg has stayed true to it's roots. It's founder was a Utopian nutjob who forbade eating meat, and made his infamous cornflakes as the only food anyone should eat.

Yeah, I stopped buying any Kellogg products several months ago. Not that I was buying much to start with.

My buddy worked for them in Louisiana. They got rid of all of their distributors in North America basically and went to a different process.

I love this line from companies.

As if the values of a company are anything other than making the most money possible (which they should be).

Their share price has outperformed (or rather fallen less than) General Mills in the last six months.

Didn't realize Kellogg's had ever stooped so low as to advertising on Breitbart.

Will never purchase their cereal again.
