What the hell are you smoking tonight? People in Alabama aren't going to elect a Democrat for Senate.
You think Jones will get elected because enough people hate Moore? Well, tell me this, why in the hell does Moore keep getting elected? He gets out spent in every campaign. He's not a great public speaker. Every voter in Alabama knows who he is and what he's done. So, why do you think he keeps getting elected?

If Jones were a moderate Democrat, I can buy that a 1988 Guy Hunt scenario could play out.
But in order to win, Jones will have to get every Democrat to the polls and I doubt he can balance that while also courting the Suburban Republican crowd that despises Moore.

The political environment is totally different today than it was in 1988. Conservative Alabama "boll weevil" democrats breaking rank for a Republican country preacher back during the Reagan era wouldn't come close to equating to a true liberal democrat beating a ultra conservative republican in the state of Alabama in today's political climate.
