Don't be surprised if Trey Gowdy is seriously considered for SCOTUS.

I would LOVE him on SCOTUS - I'd be happier with him than Cruz, and that's saying something

I wouldn't mind it, as I like him, but I don't like politicians being put on the court. I'd rather a conservative judge of legal scholar.

My dream lineup was:
Gowdy - Attorney General
Cruz - SCOTUS
Don't know how to feel about Sessions (just personally don't know enough about the man or what he believes).
So my fallback lineup would have either Cruz or Gowdy for SCOTUS... both would be Originalists.

Gowdy would be a much better choice for the court than Cruz IMO.

Gowdy wants to get out of DC and honestly that's probably the best thing for him.
And even then, I don't want Gowdy for SCOTUS. It has to be a qualified young judge with impeccable conservative credentials that nobody can seriously argue with.

Why does everyone on this board have a hard on for Gowdy? I don't get it. If he was half as awesome as most on this board think he is, Hillary Clinton would have actually been put away as a result of the Select Commmittee. Instead he poached info from citizen journalist and allowed Cummings and Clinton to make a mockery of what should have been a rock solid start to prosecuting HRC. Let's put someone in SCOTUS that actually has some notches on his belt instead of some fox news quotable and symbolic action.

I think this is true also. Why would DJT put out a list of possible nominations only to nominate someone not on that list? Would make no sense and I think it's a pipe dream to think otherwise.

This seems to be popular sentiment; however, I think we need more people like Trey Gowdy in Congress fighting for what he believes in the Capital. Cruz does not persuade and Cruz has not shown the ability to be effective in Congress, but his personality and his conviction would serve very well in the Supreme Court. He has a knowledge and view of the Constitution that is rare these days and is something that is missing at this point in time.

Was Gowdy on the original list? I don't know, but Kellyanne Conway said about two days ago that SCOTUS nominees would come from the original list presented by Trump during the campaign, period.

Bill Pryor will get on the Court before Gowdy... You dont hear clearly or choose to listen to noise. Gowdy should be in charge of the muslim registry ink well.
