Really was a smart play IMO. Didn't realize it but even Qatar airways is banned from even going to those countries. Seems a bit unfair to penalize the people and the company. Maybe QA is partially owned by the government?

Yeah, no. He's not thinking of any of that.

Here's Trump on the ACA repeal deal - in meeting with House Republicans:

Sure he can. He's up to around 57 tricks since Trump took office. He revels in being the board clown with his tricks.

I don't necessarily think it's a game at all. I think he's using what leverage we have to force Arab nations into doing something about radical Islam.

With the progress of Iran and nukes the Sunni and Shia aren't just throwing rocks and spears at each other anymore.

They're being forced to get serious.

Now will they also curb their spread of the Wahibbi brand as well? That remains to be seen.

Amazing what one can do over there when he projects strength as opposed to apologism.

You should refrain from posting on foreign policy since, like the majority, you're clueless

There is a good chance that the airline is subsidized by the country. A lot of the European air lines are, so I am thinking that the ME Airlines are as well.

Just did a quick search and it is state owned.

He seems to be making at least some progress there. Obama made none, and if anything made things worse. So, do you have an image of Obama and his ME policies? Should be entertaining.

KSA and Egypt are forming a Sunni alliance and possibly looking to take over the area and get into a war with Iran. So more war in the ME.

Regardless of what you think of that, Trump then takes credit for the division which puts us directly in the middle of the conflict. Couldn't let the ME countries fight it out themselves, I guess he had to put US on one side of the conflict.

Meanwhile Turkey is ticked off and will likely side with Russia and start attacking the Kurds again.

TRUMP is playing an interesting game in the Middle East. Clearly, the idea is to isolate Iran by pitting a unified Sunni front against them. I don't know if it's the strategy I'd play if it were me, but it's hard to deny he's playing his hand to perfection. Isolating Quatar for its ties to Iran is a beautiful play. If Shiite Syria is done for as a nation state, and the Sunni nations are unified completely against it, Iran is in an awfully bad spot. THIS is how you do an Iran deal folks. That I can tell you.

Nah.

But the above is all pretty much fantasy. It's also the opposite of what should be happening right now.

It's a gambit, VC. Giving armaments to Players who are essentially - and therein highly-problematic - Sunni Muslim can come with a potential costs to us and our interests. Think bin Laden.

Now if he can just do the same to North Korea.
