Does Rep. Ted James have the scoop on the Alton Sterling decision?

Or does he just know what everyone else knows is going to happen?
He's also a great example of why you can't ever give in to these modern SJWs and activists.
Rep. James is also possibly willing to endorse the Baltimore approach to protests.

Alton Sterling 2.0 will be a complete 180 from what we saw in July.

James said people in Baton Rouge may not be "emotionally prepared" for the investigation results from the Department of Justice on whether there was wrongdoing by the officers who shot and killed 37-year-old Sterling. But he said he's had discussions with Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome and Gov. John Bel Edwards who believe law enforcement is poised to properly handle potential incoming protests related to the eventual decision.
He's also a great example of why you can't ever give in to these modern SJWs and activists.

James, a Democrat, stopped short of criticizing law enforcement practices, but said a $100,000 legal settlement approved recently by city-parish and law enforcement officials for 92 arrested protesters was proof that changes are needed. The federal class action law suit alleged that law enforcement wrongfully arrested the protesters and used excessive force. "That tells me there are things we could have done better," James told the Baton Rouge Press Club. "We're arresting people on a state statute that has never been used before and the District Attorney opts not to prosecute these people."
Rep. James is also possibly willing to endorse the Baltimore approach to protests.
quote:
He believes if protesting resumes in the city this year, there will be a different approach by law enforcement. "We've had discussions about that and if and when that happens, how that will be handled differently," James said.

For starters, when the frick is this decision going to come out? How long can they kick this can down the road? If I'm these cops, I have to be thinking I need closure sometime soon.
If BR is gonna burn, let it burn. I'm getting tired of waiting...

Police handled those protests in BR tremendously. Why would there need to be any changes?

Of course they did.
But, the city settling with those arrested was a stupid move because now politicians are saying it's proof that they shouldn't have been arrested in the first place.
To me, he's signaling that BR/LA LEO's will be instructed to back off protestors now that he and his ilk have influence/control of city hall.
We're going to see some big time internal bickering between Dabadie/Gautreaux and the Broome folks.

maybe the police will act "differently" when the degenerates can behave themselves and not throw bricks, block roads, loot, march down airline hwy with guns on their hips, good god

This is what I don't understand.
The cops told them they were allowed to protest on Airline and other places downtown. They were only confronted or arrested when people tried to block Airline or 110

Still waiting to see that toxicology report that racist little munchkin Loretta Lynch ordered to be sealed.
If that puppy had come back clean it would've been released immediately.

James is sponsoring a bill in the Legislature this summer that would increase the minimum training hour requirements for police officers. He's also sponsoring a bill that would cap administrative leave to 60 days for officers investigated for a shooting that results in the death, and another bill that would allow the next Baton Rouge mayor-president to have freedom to hire and fire the police chief, without interference from civil service laws.
What does he think the officers are supposed to do after 60 days when the investigation is turned over to DoJ and takes a year? Are the officers supposed to go back to work like nothing mattered? Sit at Police HQ and twiddle their thumbs? Stop being paid and figure out how to survive on their own?
I am honestly confused on this Bill and I looked it up and read it. It doesn't explain what happens after the 60 days.

You've probably thought it out more than he has.

So all the people who protested are just going to all of a sudden get triggered a year later out of nowhere and begin acting like monkeys again?

There will be no Alton 2.0. Too much time has passed. Most have seen the video and have realized the police acted properly. The original protest had only a few hundred that came out and there'll be even less the next time around. I'd be surprised they could garner more than 50 once the decision comes out.
