quote:

Democratic Minnesota Representative and Democratic National Committee chairman candidate Keith Ellison once called for slavery reparations and a separate country for black Americans in a university newspaper column.

Ellison’s writings while a student at the University of Minnesota law school– under the name “Keith Hakim”– raised eyebrows when he announced his first congressional run in 2006. The Weekly Standard noted that “Ellison refers to ‘Minister Louis Farrakhan,’ defends Nation of Islam spokesman Khalid Abdul Muhammad, and speaks in the voice of a Nation of Islam advocate… ‘Hakim’ demands reparations for slavery and throws in a demand for an optional separate homeland for American blacks.”

And he's a regular promoter of anti-Semitic speakers (which made the left's apoplectic fits over Bannon hilariously funny).

We gave them a separate country. Its called Liberia and it sucks. He's free to move there if he wants though.

The Democrats are trying their hardest to destroy their own party. We should not stand in their way.

So you actually want one-party rule?

Seriously?

What do you think this is, football?

That guy is absolutely batshit.

He's perfect for the Democratic party....although I think they need to prove to middle America that they haven't completely forgotten about them by choosing a moderate.

Assumption, but no.

Rather, many would like to see the extinction of the current Democratic Party regime.

Considering we are in a de facto two-party system, and someone is talking about the death of one of those parties, that would leave but one standing.

Not much of an assumption.

I think people actually want their party to be the only one - until they're faced with admitting it.

What's wrong with reparations?

Why are white men like myself so opposed to paying back people that we oppressed, terrorized and murdered for years? We made no qualms abkht giving the natives lands in treaties or giving the Japanese $20k in the 80s. Why do we throw up a fight for blacks ? They are due a reparation that we can't touch.

Welfare (whites we abuse it the most) and affirmative action (our white women benefit from it the most) doesn't count

The obvious answer is" who is going to pay for it."

An obvious just and moral answer of "yes they deserve it" is always met with much resistance

Because I wasn't involved with any of that and therefore don't care.

We should shut those down too.

I can't recall who you are an alter for. It was that really awful poster who was banned a while back. Not sure why you keep creating new names.

Tell you what, Bubba. Find me a former slave and I'll pay them reparations myself.

Get after it.

But you paid for the Japanese internment reparations. Did you cry wolf then? Bet you weren't there for it.

Is it there fault that our ancestors were deplorable and denied them rights and a way of life at every time? We can't just say NO to rectifying wrongs.
