Diversity is a lie

Diversity is a lie and a sham. It's a buzzword to get people who shouldn't be in a position, into that position. It's a way to make people feel good and feel like they are doing something right. They aren't. They are harming the greater good when you choose people for a job/position because of race, gender, sexual orientation. As a business owner I don't give 2 shits about diversity. When I interview I hire the absolute best candidate for my open position.
Wouldn't all people want the best person in a job? The short answer is no. They want people who look like them, who act like them, who think like them, regardless of the outcome. Even if it's a negative outcome, they champion and rally the virtues of diversity.
I was once invited to a school board meeting where they wanted the opinions of local leaders on helping to make the school system more diverse. I stood up and told them I have kids in this school system and I don't care if 100% of your teachers are women, as long as they were the best available hires. I was asked to leave the meeting.

Diversity of color brings not one tangible benefit to the table. There's nothing inherently beneficial about having a black council member, an asian council member, a white member, etc. Diversity of skill and thought matters, but unfortunately not to the left or corporate America/academia.

If diversity is so effective why doesn't the NFL implement requirements on its rosters?
X % of minorities (league minorities) must be drafted at certain positions regardless of combine scores
The lack of white Corner Backs and Asian Running Backs aren't hurting on the field production?
Are you trying to tell me hiring/accepting the most qualified canidates regardless of race is the best path to success?

This is what should always happen. I was passed on a promotion by a diversity choice who didn't know the difference between to, too, and two when writing reports.
Now that I own a business, I only hire who is best for the position.

My favorite its when dems parade out diversity as a room full of women or such. its not diverse at all but they parade around like it is.

The left cannot see past skin color or gender. Diversity of thoughts and ideas is foreign to them because all they care about is race and gender. They do not care if the white person you just hired had more experience and was a better fit than the black person who also applied. All that matters is you hired a white person over a black person. Conversely, if you hire the black person because they were more experienced and had a better resume, you would be applauded by the left. Not because you hired the better candidate, but because you hired a black person.
They insult the intelligence of minorities, they automatically assume minorities are incapable of being successful in this country. So they feel they have to step in on their behalf and demand diversity... not of thoughts and ideas, but of skin color, because THAT is what's important.

Diversity is fine as long as it's organic in nature. It's a farce when it's coerced.

If it's just to minimize the gap, at the expense of qualifications, then it's prone to the same problems of coercion that you mentioned.

Depends on what "diversity" means. Racial diversity is superficial; intellectual diversity is positive.
