That is the only reason I can see for this completely irrational reaction by these idiots.

If that's the case then a trump victory was much needed to give them a reality check.

That's the only thing I can gather out of what's going on.

It's remarkable the amount of hubris social media has created.

that plays a part

but the bigger issue is that they've created their identity SO MUCH around identity politics that when a person who doesn't reflect those values is in office, it literally represents everything that they believe in their world view about privilege, oppression, etc

Absolutely. It's up to Trump now to MAGA for all Americans that are willing to work to make it great again.

This is so true.

I don't think the left can nominate another white male ever again because that is a sign of "racism" according to the true believers

Actually, wondering if they will ever nominate a white male again is probably a good conversation topic

Absolutely. Their media told them that it was inevitable, that to be against them was to be against the wrong side of history, and nothing could stand in the way of 'progress'.

Welcome back to reality.

oh they will

but i honestly think they thought they had "first black president, first female president, and first latino president" lined up. a better question is how fearful are the DEMs that the GOP gets in the first woman or latino president? that's a "watch the world burn" scenario

I believe that's part of it. But what has made this melt even more epic is that (1) Hillary was already corronated over a year ago, (2) Hillary was thought to be the continuation of Obama's liberal progressive agenda, (3) Hillary was defeated very soundly (much worse than even any of us ever predicted), (4) the realization that they have been lied to by the media for almost two years, (5) Trump boasting that he will overturn Obamacare and many other Obama executive orders asap, (6) not only does Trump win, but Repubs now have majority in house and senate and are free to impose their conservative will upon the people, and (7) rather than having a liberal activist court, Trump can now stack the Supreme Court with a couple of conservatives and tilt the court back the other way, thus setting their agenda back even further. And ALL of this was realized within a span of a couple of days now.

They are unfortunately learning VERY quickly that MOST of the liberal progressive agenda they advanced and worked so hard for over the course of the last 8 years was hated by a silent majority of this country and will now be reversed in one fell swoop.

God, don't you love democracy!

What they did was scream at and insult people until they stopped participating in the argument. At that point, the left thought everyone agreed with them because no one argued back anymore, but really, the other side was just waiting to vote for someone like Trump.
