I believe it had a hand in it. She put herself above the American people

It was one of the dumbest things she said.

There's a list a mile long that sank that leaky vessel.

No. Forgetting that white people vote and she wasn't a transformational and super charismatic candidate like Obama did her in.

I think one of the biggest mistakes was attacking the potential voters.

I don't remember when an actual candidate refer to supporters of their opponent as racist, xenophobic, homophobic, and deplorable. Surrogates sometimes pull that, but never a candidate.

It lends itself to a misunderstanding of Trump supporters and an unwillingness to even try to identify with them. A lot of his backers are blue collar middle class people who are registered Democrats. Those comments just made it easier for Trump to attract them.

20 years ago, Democrats actually cared about those people. Today, they have nothing but contempt for them.

I think her stating unequivocally that she will put coal miners out of work was one of the biggest blunders, since that's the part of the country that ultimately sealed it for her.

But the deplorables comment was a huge backfire as well.

The "put coal miners out of business" quote had to play a part in the rust belt.

It was a rallying point that she tried to undo swiftly.
Some damage did result.

I believe when she said that it moved a lot of people off of the fence and into Trump's camp.

Yep, she wasn't very bright.
Obamacare is hitting people and she reminded everyone before it was OCare it was called Hillarycare.

In a campaign seemingly affected by "dank memes" and buzzwords, I think it did.

Nah, I think her being an absolutely terrible candidate accounted for the largest percent of the tanking.

Not by itself.

But. Right on the heels of that, they started beating the drum about the uneducated white vote.

Basically, they ran against white working people who then figured, "hey, I'm the deplorable"

One of the most colossally dumb political moves I've ever seen

Everything she said was indictment on white people. I have NO issue with standing up for minorities, but she would always go out of her way for everyone else, but never acknowledge the "general populace". Unfortunate that she only feels like minorities and lbgtq are worth fighting for, even though I agree they need help.

The deplorable comment was the rallying point against her. I think the collapse of Obamacare with the premium jumps killed her. When Comey made his statement 2-3 days after the Obamacare news starting coming out I wondered if it was just to get Obamacare off the front page. It did and I'm not sure most Americans really understand the email issue because that never really changed the numbers.

Before the wikileaks it was Clinton implying that white people are racist that assured me that she had to lose.

If Bill Clinton is the "Babe Ruth of politics," Hillary is the Mario Mendoza.
