“The Denver Police Protective Association has learned that immediately after the horrible accident yesterday injuring four Denver Police Officers, several parties in the protesting group cheered and chanted “hit him again.” These actions are not only reprehensible but quite possibly the most disturbing thing this Association has ever heard,” a statement released by the police officers’ union Thursday night said.

Oh give me a break

WTF is wrong with people? Why would anyone cheer seeing another human being get injured?

If the kids are breaking the law, arrest them.

If the driver intentionally hit the police officer, arrest him/her.

Seems like they are breaking the law by not assembling peaceably. Put their arse in jail.

This is fricking disgusting. If they choose to leave school without permission and pull this shite, hold them all back a year. Every one.

Unless there's video, frick if I'm taking a statement from a police union official at face value.

That's it, my lamenting the Police Union's drama-filled response to some students is advocating running over cops with cars.

It probably isn't. The Union is reacting to heresay from its members. LINK

Although some obscenities were directed at police while they were escorting the East High School protesters, Denver Post journalists witnessed no cheering after a Mercedes hit four officers. Students who were interviewed expressed concern about the injuries.

In its response to the union, the Denver Police Department said it could not independently confirm claims that students cheered.

Well, honestly, I wouldn't doubt if it were true int eh sense that I can imagine one or two assholes "cheering".

The whole crowd or even a lot of them? Meh. Doubt it.

This all starts at the white House and their racist attitude against white law enforcement officers. T

Bull fricking shite... Maybe LEO should look in the fricking mirror instead of scapegoating the WH.

I've said dozens of times, I grew up very close to LEO and I despise most of the community today. Hell, I have friends who are officers and have sat at tables across from others listening to their stories. It's an internal problem, not a perception problem.

In fairness, it depends on the person being injured.

Yeah, pretty dumb question... How many on this board cheer and laugh at the videos of the military killing and injuring terrorists
