Unfortunately, pandering is rampant on both sides of the aisle. Look how Billy Badass republicans were for repealing Obamacare.... when they had no chance of getting it done.

Horrible idea. Bad for the companies and the employees. It is one of several reasons a lot of companies are leaving CA and coming to TX.

Would be curious to see if this particular SCOTUS would uphold this law on commerce clause grounds.

Incredibly speculative, but this also seems like an incredible overreach at first glance.

And it went red in 2016.

Makes you wonder how many former union members were red pilled when they realized their unions were lying to them and milking them dry

It’s absolutely not constitutional, but Dems are big about stepping all over the constitution to give themselves more power.

I was union for 42 years. I never believed their dribble for one minute.

Commerce Clause would be a justifable position for Congress' power to enact this law. The government overreach would come from the 1st, 5th, and 14th Amendments which take precedent over the Commerce Clause.

Frick the Democrats and their hypocrisy and ideas. They LOVE states rights when it comes to immigration, sanctuary cities etc. They slammed AZ when they tried to help enforce federal immigration laws. They are against the latest Obamacare repeal where it puts much of the decision making and $$$ at the state level, but they are FOR states rights??

Nothing wrong with a solid union defending the rights of the working man.

I read general complaints about unions all the time but specific complaints collapse when you challenge them even a slight bit.

So you support getting rid of State's rights in this case but reserve the right to advocate for them in other instances. Progs

It is 100% wrong to force people to pay into a union. There is no getting around that. It is a fact.

If unions are so magnanimous, as many of you progressives believe, they should function for the benefit of all workers without demanding that they pay into them.

There is when the 'solid union' keeps working men who don't want to be part of their shakedown racket from working.

Not surprised you see nothing wrong with that bill though.

Unions are just so great for workers that they need to be foisted upon them through technicalities and political games.
