Really good point. The Obama headquarters in Downtown Milwaukee just opened up and there's a fine looking liberal chick in there though.

Like any battleground it's about motivation, there are more republican areas (anything outside of Madtown and BrewCity basically) but they have to vote too.

Most people I've hung out with in Milwaukee are voting for Romney, even when I assume from their age, looks, car, dress, education, etc. that they'd be Obama supporters. Madison is an entirely different beast.

They're good people, we just can't talk politics. Half of them are also professors/instructors, so yeah they hate Walker too. Smart people that just don't see the forest through the trees.

Is it wrong to assume that if Wisconsin sticks with Walker, Obama loses in November (barring some massive event of course)?

if the elections were on the same day, you would be correct.

all those folks may not come out to defeat obama like they turn out to support walker.

I know the feeling. My dad is the only person I personally know that voted for Obama and fully intends to again. He is a Tulane educated lawyer so there is no changing his mind.

He also lurks here and follows my posts.

re: Democrats are dreading a Wisconsin wipeout
I LOVE it when Conservative/Republican philosophy succeeds where years of Socialist/Democratic philosophy has failed. Thanks so Walker, Wisconsin is seeing a tremendous turnaround.

quote:

By virtually every objective measure, Walker has been an extraordinarily successful governor. In just 16 months, the state has erased a $3.6 billion budget deficit, and according to figures released this month by the Wisconsin Department of Revenue, it will have a $154.5 million surplus on June 30, 2013. Property taxes, which had risen by more than 40 percent since 1998, are down for the first time in years. The unemployment rate is down from 7.7 percent when Walker took office in January 2011 to 6.7 percent in April 2012. Last week, the state’s Department of Workforce Development released numbers showing that Wisconsin had gained some 23,000 jobs in 2011—correcting a misleading earlier report suggesting the state had lost more than 30,000 jobs over the same period. The subjective measures look good for Walker, too. On the stump, Walker is fond of citing Chief Executive magazine, which had ranked Wisconsin as the 41st-best state for business in 2010 and now ranks it 20th. Walker also points to a survey by Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce that found only 10 percent of business owners thought the state was headed in the right direction in 2010, while an eye-popping 94 percent think so today.

LINK

We've seen it time and time again. Communism/Socialism is a FLAWED and FAILED model. Name ONE country where it has succeeded. If you say China you need to go live over there for a year, as a citizen not an ex-pat.

Yet time and time again, liberals will completely ignore FACTS and spout emotion fueled ignorant talking points to support their failed philosophy.

I hope Walker wins by a landslide, and that carries on in to November.

That meltdown is going to be epic in scale, an the finger pointing for the blame of the humiliation fast and furious. As Oboe said elections have consequences, and Walker had been voted into office a few months before thier attacks on him got started.

Wait, how is this possible? Obama (and the rest of the keynesian/Krugman types) are telling us we need more government spending to create jobs.

Come to think of it, none of the people around my age FROM Wisconsin will vote Republican. not a single one. That's probably the way it is for the most part (this will be my 5th year in total here, 4 before, 1 now).

Well, the fact that you are in Dane County has to be considered. While the state overall gave Obama a 56-42 win in 2008, Dane County gave McCain a 74-26 beheading. I would have been stunned if your personal experience with those around you would have revealed anything different.

This could really happen.

If the recall fails, it will be a epic meltdown for Schultz, I can't wait!!
