All I'm hearing is how excited Democrats are for the 2018 midterms. But what exactly are they going to run on to get their alienated middle class voting base back?

-impeachment
-muh Russians

Anything else???

FYI, I expect another sweep of the House and Senate for the Republicans.

I brought this topic up with jest, but also with a little bit of seriousness. What platform do they have right now? They alienated 1/3 of their voting base (a good bit of which voted for Trump) and have shown nothing to get them back.

Can anyone post a link to an actual bill by a Dem presented in Congress that wasn't throwing a hissy fit about Trump?

Vote for us.
We're in cahoots with India and China.

If they don't do something stupid, they should make up ground. Typically when a party controls everything they begin to lose ground. It's a continuous pendulum swinging back and forth. Conservative---liberal----conservative----liberal.

The goal is to bog down Trump and the GOP with made up scandals so that in 2018 they can run on the platform of "We aren't them".

The demotard platform will always revolve around being a victim.

You realize the Republicans lost seats in both last election, right? So I'm curious by what you mean with "another".

Honestly, if anything, the terrible attempts so far to repeal Obamacare and countering Trump's information with how they imply the impact will be with leaving the Paris Agreement.

I don't think they take the House at all, but the Senate is a slim Republican majority.

There are 23 democrat seats up and 8 republican, which, of course, strongly favors the Republicans in the upcoming race. Looking at current leans from Cook, Roth., and Sobato, it appears that the seats most likely to change are:
From Democrat to Republican:
Claire McCaskill, Missouri
Joe Donnelly, Indiana
Heidi Heitkamp, North Dakota

From Republican to Democrat:
Dean Heller, Nevada

There's a few more that might be pretty close. Several won their seats with 50% or less of the vote in their previous election:
Nevada Dean Heller (R) 46% R
Arizona Jeff Flake (R) 49% R
North Dakota Heidi Heitkamp (D) 50% D
Indiana Joe Donnelly (D) 50% D
Montana Jon Tester (D) 49% D

Their plan has been to create enough controversy around trump to stall his agenda. Then run on the fact that republicans can't move legislation.

They don't need a platform. "We are the party in opposition to Trump" should be enough to at least take the house.

'Vote for us, we're not Trump.'

And it'll work. Worked for Trump & the whole not being HRC thing he had going for him.

That math isn't there for the democrats to take back the house or senate in 2018.
