That guy should not have been shot.

Is not following orders a death sentence?

Why did he pull it out? That was just odd and tragic.

Look it's easy when a cop pulls you over just comply, if they try and beat your arse or shoot you and your complying then it will be on the camera and your rich or your family is rich.

Well, when the cops tell you to stop going for a gun, you don't leave them much choice.

He did tell him numerous times
Time elapsed from the first command to not touch it until the shooting is over is about 5 seconds. Hell. The whole encounter is less than 40 seconds. The other officer never even draws her weapon.

How do you know he pulled it out?

Doesn't change the facts. The facts are he was told not to reach for his weapon. He reached for the weapon. That is clearly seen and probably why the officer was acquitted.

So you mean to tell me that a person could've shot the other in that amount of time? If someone who just stated they have a gun starts reaching for something are you just gonna wait and hope it isn't a gun?

He reached. After being told to produce his license and insurance. Why was Yanez fired? Because he handled the situation so well? Why didn't the other officer draw her weapon?

No. Obviously I shoot everyone who says they have a gun and subsequently moves. It's just safer for me and mine.
Ridiculous posts get ridiculous responses.

In the officers own words...
quote:
“I didn’t know where the gun was, he didn’t tell me where the frickin’ gun was, and then it was just gettin’ hanky. He was just staring straight ahead, and I was gettin’ frickin’ nervous and then … I told him to get his frickin’ hand off his gun … frick.”

You also see the officer repeatedly tell him not to reach for the gun, but he does so anyway.
Yep.
Just because he had a CCP for a not mean he doesn't have to listen to the officer. In fact, having it requires him to follow the commands of the LEO in that situation.

Sounds like a well-trained officer who had a clear grasp of the situation.

How often are you in those situations?

The cop put himself into a bad position and then panicked. Castile handled it as best anyone could and was completely respectful.

Generally speaking if you're going to ambush someone it's not going to be with your kid in the car after informing the officer you have a concealed weapon.
Just saying...

I'll say this...there can an apprehension to policing in the community. Let's just be honest. Where I disagree is that many think it comes from something inate within the culture. As if they are inherently inferior.
That is objectively wrong. Their apprehension and skepticism is a directly result and correlation to how they've been demonized and brutalized by these entities. Their skepticism is only a natural reaction. Some would rather them just be dumb and docile and to go along with the show while they get maimed
