President Trump and his advisers are floating possible replacements for Attorney General Jeff Sessions — and the list includes Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), The Washington Post reports. Cruz and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani (R) are reportedly among the candidates Trump’s team is considering to replace Sessions, though Giuliani said earlier in the day that he's not being considered.

Rudy would be a disaster public relations wise, He would just appear to be a Trump crony put in office to squash the special counsel.

Cruz would probably be a good AG, but why remove another GOP Senator?

I'd go get Alan Dershowitz myself.

Sessions needs to resign.

Sessions has been made ineffective by the swamp.

Sessions is useless at this point. He has no power or leverage against the swamp.

Don't see Cruz doing this and the last thing the GOP needs is a special election. I would guess fat boy Chris Christie

No chance it's Christie

IF Trump is going to fire Sessions, he needs to go completely outside of politics and bring in someone new. Otherwise he's just bringing in more gators.

I want him to actually back up his words about draining the swamp. I tell you, if I were Trump and I was looking for a replacement, the first thing we would discuss is setting up a new team at the Justice Department to start investigating politicians, on both sides to figure out how all these sacks of shite are getting rich while in office.

Replace Cruz with Perry.

Replace Perry in the cabinet with Jim Webb (sure, he's a Democrat, but this shows bipartisanship)

Wait for RBG to croak, then nominate Cruz to replace her. Better yet, Roberts croaks unexpectedly and Cruz nominated to replace him as Chief Justice.

They'll be picking up the debris from Dem's heads exploding for two weeks.

The 4D move would be nominate Schumer. Either he looks even more like an a-hole for declining or he accepts, and you watch NY lose a Democratic Senator in a special election, then you fire him.

If you think Sessions was strict on asset forfeiture, wait till you get a load of Christian fundamentalist Cruz.

We already lost one fighter in the Senate with sessions leaving. I'm not the biggest Cruz fan but he's a fighter and knows the law.

Although I'd hate to lose him in the Senate he'd make a hell of an AG.

Despite the baggage, so would Rudy. I could give two fricks about the optics of hanging a crony as AG.

Holder
Lynch

Anyone?

Wasn't Dershowitz tied into the Clinton/Pedo Island thing?

@realDonaldTrump Most experts agree my presidency is top all time, but second best, JFK, was murdered by Atty General's father! Not good!

I'd keep Cruz in the Senate until it's time to replace another Justice. He'd be a hell of a Justice and has probably another 40 years left in his career.

And that would be rubbing salt in the Democrats far more than naming him AG would.

Why would Cruz want to serve at the pleasure of this president? Trump has shown he's willing to have a quick trigger and fire anyone for anything.

Not a chance in hell Cruz hitches his wagon directly to Trump.

Giuliani? He's already come out and said that he's have recused himself too.

And Cruz is actually gonna give up his Senate seat to go work for Donald Trump...who could turn around and fire him a month later? I don't think so.
