This shite has been blown so out of proportion that it's ridiculous at this point

During a sports event, I don't want to hear his personal opinion about any kind of gun control/gun culture.

His interview was b.s., fwiw.

re: Costas on O'Reilly, tonight.
He just blabbered on and O'Reilly let him skate by.

Costas screwed up here: he should just come out and say there is a glamorized stupid view of guns in the ghetto culture. But the issue isn't the guns, it's the ghetto.

He is using a bunch of thug NFL players as his sample size to assert a particular national perception of guns. In other words, he is retarded.

Yeah, so I suppose Bob Costas is complete tool now because he spoke his mind for 3 minutes during halftime of a three and half hour sporting event.

re: Costas on O'Reilly, tonight.
The summation he gave was that bad things happen when sports figures have guns in their posession.

If his employer don't care, I don't care. What he said was incredibly stupid, but he has every right to say it if his employer is fine with it

Wish he would've just came out and said that he thinks guns should be illegal. That little bit where he said he wouldn't want a gun if that Colorado shooting happened while he was in the theater was just idiotic.

re: Costas on O'Reilly, tonight.
I don't think he has very many people telling him what to do. Could be why he feels comfortable throwing his personal opinions about gun culture/control out to the whole country during a football game.

I think halftime during a football game which is normally filled with routine fluff interviews anyway is as good a time as any. He spoke for several minutes and gave his personnel opinion. Costas has enough street cred that I think he earned 3 minutes to speak candidly about the subject during the least viewed moment of the broadcast.

Hell most of the people that got "offended" by this didn't even see it happen, they heard about it the next morning.

Well, it's a private business and no matter how wrong the man was, he can do what he wants.
