Cops shoot an "unarmed" black man
video is horrible to watch

quote:

“They just murdered him flat out,” Alisha Shaw, Harmon’s niece, told the Guardian on Thursday after watching the footage. “They are lying. There is no way they were threatened by anything. He was only trying to get away.”

"only trying to get away"

this is fricking so hard to watch, but he does turn around towards the cop...hard to make that decision in a split second.

Also he had a knife

Is he black? That's really the only important factor.

I've always been of the belief that if you run from the cops, you should be shot. No authority = no peace

Yea, I'm an a'hole.

Don't freak out and run away from cops, don't get shot.

it's true. however, that's tough to watch. he's crying and moaning...and he died

he turned in a weird way, and watching it the second time I see why the officer opened fire

Black Lives Matter and NFL players need to start preaching to quit resisting and running from cops.

hat Harmon had an outstanding warrant for aggravated assault,

nm, makes sense.

Not sure what threat he posed to the LEOs/public and why deadly force would be authorized in that situation!

with his legs still forward he turns to face the cop...I can see thinking he had a gun, which may be why the guy ran to begin with.

I sometimes think that the BLM movement with their message of "cops will kill you" has people in the black community doing things that they normally wouldn't have done prior to the organization being founded.

Hollerineg FIRE in a theater has its consequences.

Oh, that changes everything. Cop might have bruised his gluteus maximus. Death penalty it is then.

2 sides must improve for this to get better.

Asking the people getting shot to do better at managing their interactions with police would be considered an ignorant argument.

However, that's what is happening with cops. They are being told to do better.

If cops do better and citizens interacting with cops do better then we will have stopped most of the nonsense.

It simply cannot be one side changing. That won't solve the problem.

re: Cops shoot an "unarmed" black man
Though I think maybe this guy didn't need to be shot, it's worth noting that he did break the law , that's why he was stopped, AND he had an outstanding warrant for aggravated assault, that's why he was being detained. It wasn't because he was black, and it wasn't because of a simple traffic violation, nor was it because of racism. The dude was wanted for aggravated assault.

LINK

Now, even if the cop who shot him was in the wrong in this situation. at what point are a majority of people willing to say "black people stop being more likely to run from or fight the police when they attempt to arrest you when you know you broke the law and you will stop getting shot, simple as that?"
