Make no mistake Trump erred here. He should have made alliances with Rand Paul and his plan.

Absolutely.

The system would have shite itself and GOP blamed.

People think democrats wouldn't absolutely destroy the GOP in local elections on "breaking" healthcare are clueless. There would be no part 2 or 3 because there would be no GOP Congress.

Rand Paul's bill never would have made it to a vote. To govern, you have to compromise. Sometimes people like Rand Paul need to realize they can't have everything they want.

So instead you should just pass Obamacare 2.0?

It was a shite bill. At some point the leadership has to take the blame.

The bill you wanted would never have seen the third phase become a reality and most likely phase two as well. It was a shite show of a bill that would have cleared the Dems of the ACA and put the target squarely on the GOP's backs.

It's a losing issue for them to tackle at all.

Passing this thing would have guaranteed a Dem supermajority in 2020

I'll take it a step further, it would have ended with the Dems moving the country to a single payer system.

You have to find common ground for sure, and compromise whenever possible. But sometimes you can't just compromise, when it's fundamentally counter to one's principles and beliefs, just to say you passed some legislation.

I don't think he wanted everything, he just didn't want to support a bill that was so flawed and delivered on so little of what the party had promised.

People can hate on Rand and the Freedom Caucus but they just saved the party from itself. That was a massively unpopular piece of legislation that wasn't going to fix a damn thing.

Maybe you should have let the dnc know that before they cheated for Hillary to get the nom- then we wouldn't even have to have this discussion now.

How was passing that bill going to help the GOP in 2018?

It wouldn't. It was a horrible mess and for once things worked by a bad bill getting killed. The Dems passed a crap sandwich because they just wanted to pass something. It is still on them. "They didn't fix our disaster!" isn't really a winning platform.

Were you sleeping the last 30 min? Paul Ryan's bill never made it to a vote. He is the speaker and he can't even get his party behind his crap bill.

Time to work on bi-partisan legislation to fix Obamacare. And if they won't they will get voted out in 2018. All praise Rand Paul!!!!

Oh yeah. Voters will love us in 2 years for passing no significant legislation and for saving crippling law known as ObamaCare.

You people are high on acid or you're very very unintelligent.

I may have just lost my job on this non-vote. If Medicaid implodes my salary funding implodes. This is concerning. As a tax payer I'm glad Medicaid cuts back some services but as an employee i am concerned.
