CNN reported just now that shooter was known to the FBI

and she said something about voices in his head to join ISIS. He told someone that. But Burnett said they do not yet know how or why he was known to the FBI .
UPDATE: He himself showed up at the FBI office in ALaska and told them of the voices. He himself checked himself into a hospital.

Obviously big grain of salt but I read on Twitter he lived within walking distance of the only mosque in Alaska. Never heard of a Muslim Puerto Rican but who knows.

Not only was he known to the FBI, he himself went to the FBI and told them he was being forced to fight for ISIS.

UPDATE: He himself showed up at the FBI office in ALaska and told them of the voices. He was worried about the voices telling him to join ISIS. He himself checked himself into a hospital. I am guessing this was his first psychotic break

It is legal. Watch or listen to any news broadcast and they explain it over and over how he did it and how it is legal.

Stuff like this makes me cringe every time I hear some self-serving politician or bureaucrat state that if only law enforcement had more tools or access to our information, or if we just gave up more of our civil liberties, incidents like this could be prevented.

The reform would be institutionalization and no longer trying to mainstream the mentally ill into society. That is what the left fought against (and changed) about 50 years ago.

I don't know exactly what he did, but guns and ammo can he checked if they are in TSA approved containers. he didn't carry the loaded gun onto the plane
