They never disengaged from Gaza, they maintained control, and they are not going to abandon the West Bank, they want the land,
They dismantled all 21 settlements in Gaza. They have no settlements or military presence in Gaza or the Sinai.
They dismantled 4 of the West Bank settlements - there is much there that needs to be done. Expansion is going on when there needs to be a disengagement policy similar to the Sinai and Gaza. Jordan could have been a great help in the West Bank, but, like the other Arab states, they have just abdicated.
Israel has not settled the Heights after 45 years - that is a legitimate buffer/DMZ. Syria cannot be trusted and is absolutely not stable.
You're absolutely insistent on pre-1967 borders, with no buffer in the Heights?
Israel does not need that land for security. Stable neighbors would provide more security than an occupation.
It was those same neighbors mobilizing in 1967 that led Israel to believe the land was needed for security. I'm against the entire post-1967 settlement policy, but it is clear the Palestinians do not want peace - they want Israel gone.
