Trump having to walk a tight rope of trying to distance himself from Flynn and Manafort but without looking like he's hanging them out to dry so they don't feel motivated to roll over on him.

Well it is as true today as it was yesterday, Flynn may have made a deal. You shouldn't retract a statement that never meant anything in the first place.
