Erin Burnett - "apparently a very SMALL group of ISIS fighters were there for the BIGGEST bomb dropped since WW2. ONLY 36 ISIS fighters were killed."

They are spinning this as a waste of money and time because only 36 fighters were killed.

The price to me is really cheap in terms of the lives that were most likely saved by killing those 36 terrorist.

You can bet if we sent in ground forces and ended up taking casualties, they would go nuts bitching about that

Well I would agree that the cost per kill isn't efficient. (9 million per kill, there abouts) However, I think this was more about show and theatrics then anything else. Which I am absolutely fine with.

I am not a military expert, so I don't know why this bomb may have been the only option to complete the misson. I don't really care. It just shows that we have a lot of cool toys and are not scared to use them.

Big win politically for DJT, MOAB kills 40 terrorists, CNN is having a nervous breakdown.

We dropped 100,000 lbs of ordinance within 1 minute and killed maybe 4 people in Syria. Why is 36 dead using 21,500 lbs of ordinance at once so terrible? Or underachieving I should say.

I realize casualties weren't the objective in Syria, but planes were still taking off the next day. And I doubt those 36 guys were crowded around a campfire. The MOAB basically cleared out an entire operating area.

Do they think it's more cost effective to break it down into 1,000 lb payloads with individually guided long range delivery vehicles? Pushing the MOAB out of the back of a C130 seems pretty economical

Here, I'll post this again so you folks can stop being so goddamn ignorant.

Ignorant leftist twits in this thread.

Why do they and the Left MSM keep saying "Trump just spent $314 million to kill 36 ISIS militants." when the truth is the bombs cost $16 million each, not $314m, and the money was spent on these bombs LONG before Trump took office?

Where the hell did this "36" number come from?

The US General in charge of the ground forces in this area says there were 600-800 ISIS militants possibly in this camp.

quote:

The US military was quizzed Friday on whether the munition, known as the "mother of all bombs" for its extraordinary force, was necessary for the particular target.

The GPS-guided bomb is capable of destroying an area equivalent to nine city blocks.

"This was the right weapon against the right target," the commander for US forces in Afghanistan, General John Nicholson, told a press conference.

"It was the right time to use it tactically against the right target on the battlefield."

The blast destroyed three underground tunnels as well as weapons and ammunition, but no civilians were hurt, Afghan and US officials have said.

The US military previously estimated ISIS had 600 to 800 active fighters in the area, but was unclear whether they had hoped to strike more fighters.

As usual, the Lefty MSM and idiots on this site continue to push every disparaging narrative possible against Trump.

They are including R&D into the cost per unit I'm assuming. Problem is there are only a handful of these. If there were only 100 tomahawk missles (100k lbs of ordinance) ever produced with that program's R&D price tag you could probably say they are 100+ mil a peice easy. It simply doesn't cost that much to produce a unit though..

It's not trumps fault someone else developed a weapon that was never used or mass produced.

Using their logic Trump should just order 5 more and say he just cut the cost in half.

Someone should clue the bitch previously on the FINANCIAL channel about sunk costs.

It cost what it took to get it there.

WTF does she think we need to save it for?

For all we know it's not even desired in our arsenal and paying to maintain it or dismantle it costs more than pushing it out the back of a C130. Maybe trump was just doing a little spring cleaning and giving America a little bang for their buck already spent

No, they're not. They're listening to Leftist media tell a lie that the bomb cost $314 million.

They've been pushing this lie for two straight days. Fact is we had 20 of these MOAB produced and the total cost for all 20 was $314 million.

They cost about $16m each.

The notion that it was $9 million per ISIS militant death is freaking retarded.

Even worse

Figured they still had the journalistic integrity to at least skew the numbers rather than just make them up

this, along with every other biased crock of shite the MSM puts out, will be debunked and proven wrong, there will probably be 360 dead total, and yet there will be no retraction or apology. Fake news gonna fake news.
