quote:

Ex-FBI Director James Comey has privately told members of Congress that he had a frosty exchange with Obama Attorney General Loretta Lynch last year when he confronted her about possible political interference in the Hillary Clinton email investigation after showing Lynch a sensitive document she was unaware the FBI possessed, according to sources who were directly briefed on the matter.

quote:

Comey told lawmakers in the close door session that he raised his concern with the attorney general that she had created a conflict of interest by meeting with Clinton’s husband, the former President Bill Clinton, on an airport tarmac while the investigation was ongoing.

During the conversation, Comey told lawmakers he confronted Lynch with a highly sensitive piece of evidence, a communication between two political figures that suggested Lynch had agreed to put the kibosh on any prosecution of Clinton.

quote:

Comey said “the attorney general looked at the document then looked up with a steely silence that lasted for some time, then asked him if he had any other business with her and if not that he should leave her office,” said one source who was briefed.

Sources say Comey told lawmakers that he also raised his concern with the attorney general that she had created a conflict of interest by meeting with Clinton’s husband, the former President Bill Clinton, on an airport tarmac while the investigation was ongoing.

quote:

Comey “took that interaction and the fact she had met with Bill Clinton as enough reason to decide he would not allow the Justice Department to decide the fate of the case and instead would go public” with his own assessment that the FBI could not prove Mrs. Clinton intended to violate the law when she transmitted classified information through her private email and therefore should not be criminally charged. Another source said the "tarmac meeting was the public excuse for not going to Lynch when all along there was other evidence that was more concerning to Comey."

Comey is going down over all
Of this and he is going to take a lot of people with him, republicans included. They were all working together criminally to try and bring Trump down.

Smart man. He knows that this crap is totally irrelevant. Try to use this excuse when a State Trooper is pulling out his Ticket Book.

BTW, in the sphere of Prosecutorial Practice, just WHAT is considered a criteria for determining possible 'Intent'? Is/would not the wholesale DESTRUCTION of relevant evidence determine Intent?

Dude is a bold-faced liar. And a bad one at that. "...too weak".

How has this not blown up? Is Lynch even being looked at? All the bs going on and one side seems to be getting away like smooth criminals.

Two things re: this quote below

1). It's not his job to basically white knight for the justice department. If he had that big of a problem with the document and then he should have spoken to House oversight committee or resigned. His resignation would have created such a stink that the existence of the document would have come out as the "why" he resigned.

2) The decision of whether or not to prosecute a case is not the job of the FBI. They are an investigative body that gathers facts and evidence and presents them to the US Attorneys office for them to decide if a proescution is warranted based on the FBI investigation

-Comey is showing he was a weak leader that could not stand up to the Obama/ Clinton machine, but has no problem doing that to the Trump administration.

-also all of this is showing him to be drunk with power and wanting to preserve his job.

Seems like it is possible.

The anonymous source(funny how that doesnt seem to be an issue for Trumpkins all of the sudden), doesn't really contextualize the conversation. Or at least Circa doesn't provide it.

The implication here is that this is another memo, or that the WaPo reporting was not fully accurate, or that the email was maybe not false.

It reads like a "pick your own adventure" piece TBH. Capped off with a nice "Was Comey referring to the WaPo piece when he said some of the reports about the email case were nonsense?" We don't know, but just think about it.

That was not his job. His job was to investigate and refer the results to the DOJ.

PERIOD!

This is exactly it. Comey even said as much during his hearing the other day. He said that the stuff in the press (concerning the document) was a bunch of "nonsense." He said that twice.

The press tried to say the document was a fake planted by Russia (my how the Russians get around). Comey is saying that's bullshite.

No offense to the OP, I am behind you 100%. But honest question. Is there anyone out there actually so dumb that they didn't already know this? It doesn't take Comey to figure that one out.
