Walked into voting booth this morning at 9 and started with the Senate race. The candidate I wanted to vote for I could not get to select. After several tries it finally indicated with the X. Go through the rest of the races and amendments and get ready to finalize vote and decided to check over my votes to make sure, well, the senate vote was blank. I thought to myself that was odd. So I re-selected my candidate and made sure the X was there before I cast my vote.

Very weird and I hope was a glitch and not something that is going to end up being a problem.

Report it to the SOS. This sounds like it is happening a lot in Louisiana.

Need more info. What's your race/ethnic background? Unless I know those details, I can't make a judgement on whether you're a disenfranchised voter, or a silly pub who can't work the machine.

Let's just say that I'd fall into the later category. I checked for hanging chads too, didn't find any.

Exactly what I suspected. Here's a bit of friendly advice; take or leave it. I'd recommend you do a serious re-evaluation of your life and make careful notes where you diverge from the norm.

Similar thing happened to me. I posted about it in an earlier thread. I clicked and illuminated the "X" for my senatorial choice, and after making several more entries, I looked back to find the senate race choice was blank. The thought of a conspiracy cross my mind, but then the same thing happened on a few (3) of the proposed Constitutional amendments. The "X" would illuminate when the button was pressed, but after several seconds it would go off. The second time it was selected, it "took," and all the races had a choice illuminated when I pressed "submit."

That could be the problem. I was standing in my native Free State of Livingston when it happened--meth capital of the southeast. Not entirely certain I'd wager on our citizenry conquering the machines.
