Why not just change it to "Care Act" and drop the Affordable part?

The first year of Obamacare my family’s coverage went from $320/mo to $1785. With a $5000 increase in deductible.

The letter clearly states that “this isn’t a Marketplace plan”

Everyone should fill Kimmel's Twitter feed with these. Fight fire with fire.

His original plan didn't seem to be either.

Why the huge jump in price?

Not only that, but he received it at the beginning of open enrollment and had plenty of time to shop for a more affordable policy. I don't see the problem here.

Please go price a gold plan without a subsidy.

Probably because that is the cheapest price and all he can afford. Imagine the gold plan.

The issue is the term affordable was meant to be directed at those who couldn't afford healthcare. Anyone who had healthcare already and expected more people to get insured while also assuming their payments would go down because hey affordable MUST mean me, was delusional. For more people to get covered, you have to pay more. The question becomes is it a commodity, is it a right?

Duh. This is people who are paying for the marketplace plan. It is why it is so high. If you have a job and make a decent salary, or even a middle class salary-- can you sign up for the marketplace Ocare plan?

Well there’s no background information provided and half the letter is cropped off. These muh premiums arguments are never fact heavy.
