Chaffetz to take immediate medical leave

Timing is certainly interesting with his announcement last week.

His foot?
When this was big news last week he retweeted a heavy.com article about his glorious marriage and wife of many years...
So I was thinking (Like Kevin McCarthy and many others) He got caught having an affair...
Now I am wondering if he is ill. Or if his foot is an excuse to get out so he can work on his new lobbyist $$$$$$ job, or Governor bid?

there are many reasons as to what is going on
1) chaffetz is about get nailed on something
2) chaffetz realizes congress is fricked and doesn't want to tarnish his future
3) he really has issues

Can anyone please tell me WTF is the rumor with Chaffetz? I see all these threads but no one ever provides any explanation for why he is "resigning" or being "forced out" or "taking time off", etc.

There probably is some basis to this. My wife had to have a second operation on a broken ankle/leg for basically the same reason. Her first surgeon left a bunch of "junk" in there around the breaks and according to her second surgeon who cleaned it up he said infection would have eventually set in if she hadn't gotten the second procedure.

There really isn't one. People are just speculating because of the timing of it all because of his public reluctance to open a House Oversight investigation into Trump.
I haven't seen anything official that he is resigning. He's only announced he won't seek re-election.

sure, but the timing is definitely odd.
Timing of things was a big issue with the right base last fall, I wonder why it doesn't matter here?
