CGI Federal granted 5 more Gov't contracts - $7 mil more

CGI FEDERAL, the company paid $290M by the Obama administration to create the HealthCare.gov website, has been granted at least five more government contracts totaling $7M since the site's problem-plagued launch Oct. 1.

The contracts were for computer and software development at the Department of Health and Human Services, the Department of Commerce, and the Environmental Protection Agency.

One contract, for instance, was signed Oct. 19 by Department of Commerce officials

I think one of the rumors was something like a C-level exec at CGI went to Princeton with Michelle Obama.

You DO realize that Obama awarded Halliburton a no bid contract, right?

“The days of sweetheart deals for Halliburton will be over when I’m in the White House.” After becoming president, Mr. Obama continued the attack and promised on March 4 to “end unnecessary no-bid and cost-plus contracts. … In some cases, contracts are awarded without competition. … And that’s completely unacceptable.”

That was then; this is now. Last week, the Army revealed that KBR, a former subsidiary of Halliburton, was awarded a no-bid contract worth as much as $568 million through next year. This deal was announced only hours after the Obama Justice Department informed the public that it was joining a suit filed by whistleblowers who allege KBR used kickbacks to get foreign contracts.

CGI and ICF are two of the largest consulting companies in the world, and their US headquarters are in Virginia. They have been getting major government contracts for a long time.

Yep. but check out my edited post. Obama said he would stop this, did he not?

And, Honorary Coonass was trying to deflect attention to Bush giving Halliburton no bid contracts, which, I am sure he was aware is EXACTLY what Obama did.

You mean to tell me Obama lied?

Back in the day the name Halliburton was to a lib what the dinging bell was to Pavlov's dog. Now, not so much.

Yes, apparently.

and outside web designers have roundly panned the structure and coding of the site as amateurish and sloppy. The latest indication of the haphazard way in which Healthcare.gov was developed is the uncredited use of a copyrighted web script for a data function used by the site, a violation of the licensing agreement for the software.

Wait. I am confused. I was under the impression you are an Obama apologist. Am I wrong?

Is this the one that Michelle Obama is friends with and the bids were never open to all? Just given to her friends company?
