State's rights. You are hoping this upsets folks that don't live in CA?

I hope they do it. I hope they can afford it.

What's wrong with you, tar want?

Cali can do whatever the hell it wants. That is the beauty of federalism.

Hope it passes, we need someone to be the example of how it doesn't work. Just hope they are ready for the influx of new patients moving in from other states.

They have NO way to pay for this albatross.

I hope this actually comes to be. And I hope they do it EXACTLY like they want to set it up. So when it fails we can all point and laugh..

Also hope the Feds pass a law that says Cali will get ZERO bailout money when they turns into a giant cluster..

Well, I would assume they'll have to put pre-existing residence requirements in and that won't be evil.

It would also have the added benefit of drawing freeloaders away from other states.

It's token legislation without any details or funding mechanisms.

It's EVERYTHING that is wrong with our legislative process. It means absolutely shite other than a talking point for the current politicians to claim they are "doing something". There is nothing tangible within it.

I sincerely hope they try it and get it passed so everyone can see the reality of it. But this kind of "legislation" is meaningless.

In theory yes, but moving is very expensive and if they are a freeloader I doubt they have much cash.

The bill calls for rebuilding health care in California from a multi-payer system to a single payer “fee-for-service” system, taking the state into unknown territory with unanswered questions about how “enrollees, providers, employers, and the state would adapt,” according to a legislative analysis. The new program would upend the health insurance industry in the state, leaving thousands unemployed, and the state would set aside funds to retrain that workforce.

Holy shite!

Is Cali really stupid enough to do a single payer fee-for-service system? There is no way in hell that will lower costs without sacrificing care. Doc, hospitals, pharmacies, etc are going to get filthy rich from "improper payments."

Yes. So long as you lived in California, MEXICO, or Central America prior to passage of the law, you'll be covered!

Isn't this great? Liberals, Proggies, Republicans, Libertarians...all coming together in agreement that this is a great thing California is about to undertake.

It would also be a great opportunity to hire physicians away from California.

Do Louisiana's freeloaders need help packing or a ride to bus stop?

That's some awfully bougie talk you're spouting...

Or assets.

Social bonds will keep plenty where they are, but there will be quite a few people with little or nothing to lose who will give it a shot.
