No, they won't go bankrupt and they know it.

Why?

Because Progressives count on someone else to bail them out. As it has been stated here dozens of times in this thread, they are too big to fail and they know it.

Every prog posting in this thread from the OP, to BamaAtl, etc, KNOW everything in the OP is a blatant lie. EVERYTHING. They don't care. Just like Obamacare, lie to get it passed, then rely on the few producers left to fund it, all the while lying about the "success" despite it going bankrupt bc it was only built to sustain itself for a few years.

Then, when the money runs out, have the media run stories of all the people Rs are killing bc the law they knew would fail needs to be fixed.

We've seen this song and dance already. We know how this goes.

BamaAtl, research shows that payroll taxes on employers falls mostly on workers in the form of lower wages. If this is a plan where 7.5 is paid by workers and 7.5 paid by employers, in reality it is closer to 11% paid by workers. An 11% increase in taxes would make A LOT of people worse off

Employees will pay the entire 15%...... It will be part of the cost to employ an employee and all of those costs are paid by the employs labor. If employers had no portion of payroll taxes they would pay the employee that portion.

I would bet that most people would see an increase in disposable income if all healthcare premiums were eliminated and replaced by a 15% tax.....anyone who is paying less than that now is under insured and costing responsible people a pile of money.

When I was employed, (I am retired now) I was paying something like $200 a month for my insurance and my wife's. We were healthy and rarely went to the doctor, and the first $1500 of the deductible was covered by my employer.

If they took 15% from my paycheck, I would be paying SUBSTANTIALLY more than I had been paying....and most people would fall in this category.

I did not see how they were planning on covering the retired, poor and unemployed people's insurance. There is no way their costs could go down. In order for California's plan to go into action, they would have to wave Medicaid, medicare and ObamaCare rules in giving California the funds they would be seeking. Fat chance of that happening. It is destined to fail.

This is actually another good point. how do they, the poor, unemployed etc get theirs paid for?

I may not be understanding....is the 15% supposed to cover only their employees, or everybody?

Build the wall with CA on the other side of it.

STates rights is a great idea. Just don't expect the rest of the states to bail out your idiocy.

Depnding on when you were paying $200 a month you were either under insured or woefully underinsured and cost the rest of us dearly. Plus your employer was more than likely paying much more than $200 a month which was coming directly out of your pocket also...because otherwise your employer was giving you something you hadn't earned...

Californians finance a sizeable % of the federal government. Unlike red states blue states tend to contribute to federal tax revenues instead of taking from them. Given that the additional costs will be pre-tax income the average californian will probably see little to no difference in their disposable income....they may actually see an increase....time will tell. One thing is certain,....as California goes so goes the rest of the nation...if it is even remotely workable in California we will all have it in 10 years....and wonder how we ever survived without it....

If he was paying $2400 a year for a policy for two people close to retirement age common sense says they were under insured my friend....they may have been lucky but that is no kind of plan....

For an illegal immigrant, this must be amazing. They get the same healthcare as everyone else will be getting, plus all of the other government benefits they get, all without paying any income taxes.

It's like robbing a bank and then going back over and over again to rob it again. Each time you go to rob it, the teller is standing there with a smile on their face, happy to give you free money without you having to do any work.

Wait, so because my company chooses to cover all employees' premiums on our health insurance, we're all underinsured?

United Healthcare, $500 deductible, $2500 max out of pocket/year

How am I underinsured?!

Or maybe I'm "being given something I didn't earn?" It's part of our total compensation package - watch how quickly people ask for a raise or leave the company if that benefit were taken away.

Crap. This will mean more Californians invading Austin. They're already ruining this place.
