A man is in critical condition because of those thugs.
They aren't "a little bit off the scale," they're violent offenders.
A 5-year-old child wouldn't behave that way.
I can appreciate your compassion, but I think you're misguided here.

I think they know but honestly, I don't think they know the ramifications. The bio psychological effects poverty and violence have on the young men is tremendous. They kids look no older than 18? That means they are Katrina babies most likely. Scientist are already showing that Katrina babies are a little bit off the scale.

You (and people who think like you) are the reason why little shits are able to get away with this with nothing more than a slap on the wrist, which reinforces this behavior.

Right is right, and this is fricking wrong and they know it. frick them.

Like dog shite, I look down and try not to step in it. The best way though is don't walk where dogs shite most often, so if and until NOLA fixes their shite, it's best to not go there and you don't have to concern yourselves with all the piles of dog shite everywhere.

You're engaged in a defense mechanism known as reaction formation. You're classic.

whats so special about these guys that they need extra special attention

Because these guy's came to your city as guests to put their hard earned money into the tills of your city's hospitality and tourism industry. Maybe they were a part of a group of a thousand members of the National Rotary Club, in town for a convention. Maybe they were KC Chief fans, in town for a game. Maybe one of there daughter's attends Tulane, and they came to visit. Regardless of who they are and why they are there, 5% of every dollar they spend goes into your City's hopper to be thrown away on tearing down relics of the past that most people had become blind to over 100 years, in lieu of more police to protect these people who want to give you money. Christ, those guys got mugged in one of the few places that I would consider remotely safe in the whole city.

Gosh have not heard that term in a long time, people seem to be fond of "Stockholm Syndrome" now, for the life of me I do not understand why Reaction Formation has taken a back seat since it was in print first, I guess folks just hate Freud

Defense mechanism? No I see situations for situations and I see larger macro-level situations behind that.

What I don't do is get weak and give way to "Rational" weak attitudes or beliefs

It's not surprising you'd have no insight into it.
You're also using Intellectualization.
quote:

In psychology, intellectualization is a defense mechanism where reasoning is used to block confrontation with an unconscious conflict and its associated emotional stress – where thinking is used to avoid feeling. It involves removing one's self, emotionally, from a stressful event

You won't find me in NK. I actually think it was crazy that we spent all that time fussing about that kid. We willingly put himself in harms way

Da fuq?

How is this in anyway relevant to linked crime? You saying the guy knocked out from behind should have "talked his way out of it?" That is fricking asinine.

Ah, so you're into "Irrational" weak attitudes or beliefs. Interesting. Tell us more about your philosophical ideas about the macro-levels of the situations which are prevalent in the micro-levels of cultural dysfunctions of the preconceived assumptions of the narrative of oppression among the dispossessed.
