This is a pretty short tenure even for his pitiful resume. Not that we have any idea if any of it is true. Is his name even really Troy Bell? Hmm....

He lasted a full five days on this job. I think that's his personal best....

Give them credit. Slinking away on a Friday night is the best timing to hide it from the news cycle, especially with LSU baseball losing to Big Blue

Red Stick is an embarrassment with a pathetic excuse for a mayor.

Elections have consequences.

fricking sad....doing everything that I can to avoid moving back to my HOME state. SMH.

And we are living through the consequence of horrible election outcomes at the state and city level in both Baton Rouge and New Orleans. This is the new low at least in my lifetime

What's really sad is that I'm sitting here laughing at the so called "leadership" of BR and NOLA...from a city that's been run for nearly the last 20 years by a former mob lawyer and now, his wife.

Let THAT sink it.

I'm mildly surprised he didn't get to keep his job

I want to take a moment to appreciate how unusually competent and forward thinking Mayor Kip Holden was. It's a shame that his legacy will be unraveled by the incompetence and corruption in city hall now.

If it makes you feel any better nothing really improved or declined in 20 years, so the relevancy of whosever in charge should tell you something.

IMO Baton Rouge improved significantly between 2004-2015 or so. It's certainly stalled now. Being the sacrificial lamb for the Democratic Party's 2016 election wedge issue has consequences.

How bad does Broome look now?

Geez, the benefit of doubt just flew out the window and down the street. The woman is in way over her head.

Kip did it right. He spent his considerable energy and charm making appearances, selling the city, kissing the babies and hugging the hot blondes. Meanwhile the city day to day was being run by people that were actually effective (Walter Monseur, Mike Walker and William Daniel). SWB better acknowledge her need to do the same so she can spend her time trying to figure out how to sack Dabadie and plotting how to undermine St. George.

That's like being "sort of pregnant". He put it on there and it is either true or it's not.

There are plenty more unqualified social activists where he came from. She'll find another one soon. With the same attitude but a cleaner resumé.

Had to laugh at Broome's response to a question about Bell being fired/arrested several times: "Well, I don't know bout SEVERAL" ( my emphasis).

You would like to think a clean rap sheet would be good for the CAO to have. You'd think a person who had proven himself to be reliable, responsible and a stable person too.

But maybe I'm too picky? How this guy was even interviewed is very troubling.
