When did violent protests become un-American? We have a rich tradition of violent protests in this country. The non-violent method is much more effective over the long run but the violent protest has proven effective in the past. We would be speaking english and eating bangers and mash or navy beans in A1 if it weren't for violent protests.
It is a bad idea to turn to violence as it merely turns those on the fence against your cause....but it is disengenuous to claim that violent protests is somehow anti-American when we were born out of violent protests....

There will be no more decency as long as the MSM is in the tank for the leftists.
When the dims lose they always trot out the old lines like "we need to work together", "reach across the aisle", "not enough decency", etc.

Obama did this.
Not in a vacuum...and pretending otherwise is a big part of the problem.
The GOP was on the ropes in 2008 and had squandered an incredible opportunity to bring the US together in a meaningful way after 9/11. Instead we went off to an ill advised and, most importantly BIPARTISAN war....and the economy went into a tail spin and the American people were shook to their core. We elected Barack Obama in a pretty convincing fashion....and then the GOP did the only thing they could and remain a viable party...they opposed EVERYTHING, regardless of impact....and many GOP supporters, and the current president, went out of their way to de-legitimze Obama by claiming he wasn't a citizen, was a muslim, was a communist....and so here we are with the democrats doing the same thing....we are all equally responsible...it isn't one side or the other we are all merely pulling for laundry at this point like it is a fricking game between our team against a hated rival.
Here is the important thing, especially for democrats to remember at this point....it doesn't matter how we got here what matters is how we get out of here...because here is untenable...here is the end of our republic as we have known it...not on Trump's watch as the democrats fear because Trump doesn't even have the support of his own party...but if we do not stop with this madness we are not going to make it as a nation.
It is entirely up to the GOP now...again, it doesn't matter how we got here it is where we go from here. The GOP has the tiller....it is their ship....if it runs aground it is the GOP's fault ENTIRELY....not the democrats, not the media...the GOP.
There are steps the GOP can take to stop the madness...they could lead by example....they could, for example, say it was a mistake not to consider Merrick Garland for the supreme court...many Republicans once felt that Garland was a good choice for the court. They don't have to lobby for Trump to appoint Garland...just say it was bad bipartisan politics to not even consider him and move on.
The GOP is the adult in the room now...and as such the GOP has a responsibility to do what it can to heal the divide. The GOP is in complete control....if the nation is to heal itself it is the GOP who will do it....the democrats have no say in the matter....

What percentage of dem and rep voters even know who garland is? No point in apologizing to the relatively few that know who he is.

This shite was started by the left and the right is going to finish it brother. Left went way to far with their constant racist, whites are the devil, white supremacy, white privilege, false narratives, civil unrest etc. All aimed at defeating and supressing white opinion. No it's not going to get better brother, it's going to get a lot worst, but it will be finished.

Garland is a good choice to replace Ginsburg

The very idea of lamenting the "downgrade of decency" when there is essentially a National clash of polar Governmental Ideology...is a joke in itself. People are decent to each other when the issues upon which they agree are not injurious to their (perceived) survival and prosperity. In the past, the populous of this Nation agreed that Constitutional Principle and the Rule of Law therein ruled supreme. No more so. Near half the Electorate would as soon ditch the Constitution, the Border (which secures National sovereignty), traditional Culture and the other Half of the populous who they view as immoral and "irredeemable" (Hillary quote).
Dude ought to check the historical record of the Ideologically-based World Wars. "decency" .

This is the result of the abandonment of Christianity in the west. It's a moral issue, not a political one. When you make yourself a god, you get pretty pissed off when people dare to challenge you, and since you make your own moral laws, you don't have to play by the rules of others.

There's a lot more validity to your point than most people want or would be willing to admit.

Ironic coming from an ignorant hick who voted for the most indecent man for president in our long history. A proven liar, con-artist, fraud, deadbeat, sexist, racist, xenophobe, and sexual predator. Yet you want to talk about decency. If you had any decency, you would have voted for someone other than Trump.
