Lemme tell some of you who are unfamiliar with the goings on at the Bham City Hall. I was just in there today. It has become a shrine for every shred of race based history of the city. I get the fact that there was a lot of injustice back in the day...yes this we know, but it is so far over the top at City Hall with how it is presented. I am sure others who go in there can vouch for what I am saying, especially with the new additions/renovations there. "Brow beat" is an inadequate term for it. We have, just a block down or so, The Civil Rights Institute. Is that not enough? The sentiment in the building is way out in the open. Equality goes both ways and there darn sure isn't an atmosphere of equality cultivated at City Hall. A couple of years ago, I was there and I noticed several ads posted on "posting boards" within City Hall for a local function and guess whose face was all over the ad prominently and listed as the featured speaker? None other than Jeremiah Wright! TPTB at City Hall let the posted ads remain knowing full well his publicly espoused sentiments. Birmingham is STUCK in a downward plunge until the racism is expunged on all fronts and I don't see it happening anytime soon with the relentless clinging on of the past which is perpetuating itself, with just a different face, in the future!
