"When there's a bombing, we blame the BOMBER.
When there's a drunk-driving accident, we blame the DRIVER.
Why, when there's a shooting, do we blame the GUN?" Allen West

Not really. We usually blame America when there's a bombing. Or White people.

No store sells full up bombs that are used for mass destruction. Some products contain materials in order to make bombs, but those are products utilized in every day life, and many are regulated to purchase in bulk, which may indicate trying to create a bomb.

When there's a drunk-driving accident, we blame the DRIVER.

Vehicles are intertwined in our everyday life and provide a great benefit for citizens of every country. Doing away with vehicles in unrealistic. People do mention bans on alcohol, although not to this level

Guns in the 21st century have much less purpose than ever before, and no one is calling for the banning of 12 gauges or other similar weapons used for hunting. Once again, the main reason is the real decline of necessity of guns, especially the type that can cause maximum damage in these situations.

We blame and regulate the alcohol. That's why it's become progressively harder to buy alcohol over time, yet not progressively harder to obtain a license.

And that's about as stupid as blaming murder on guns.

Alcohol isn't regulated because of DUIs.

...and it has not become progressively harder everywhere. It's become much, MUCH easier to buy alcohol in Alabama, South Carolina, and a myriad of other states over the years.

Where exactly in the 2A does it mention hunting? It doesn't? Hmmm... it's almost like hunting has absolutely nothing to do with the necessity of guns, according to the Constitution.

You're missing the point. We regulate the alcohol rather than the driving, which is contrary to the quote. I'm sure it's gotten easier to get alc in some areas, but overall, it's harder to drink (not drive) than it used to be if for no other reason than raising the drinking age (but not the driving age)

The second amendment had nothing to do with hunting.
The founders had enough foresight to know that the first thing an oppressive gov't must do to force its will on the population is to disarm it. The 2A gives citizens the power to dissolve an overbearing gov't, by force if necessary.

No, I'm not. We don't regulate alcohol because of DUIs.

Just like we don't regulate drugs because of DUIs.

That's what I was trying to get across to TennesseeFan25. I was just being a smartass about it.

We regulate alcohol because of drunk driving deaths dude. That's why it's 21 and not 18. That's why happy hours are regulated in some areas.
