I stayed up as late as I could. One or two AM and took a huge nap that morning during surgery. I noticed before I went out that the people in the operating room were all jubilant except for one guy and as soon as he walked out they all laughed at him. It was a great day to be an American.

I remember how shitty it felt at about 6:00pm. It looked like crooked had it in the bag. Then the MAGA landslide began. What a night.

I don't understand why people were thinking this. It all came down to the Rust Belt. I just don't know how like 99% of the press was missing what I was seeing in this.

Man, they really gave us some shite for supporting Trump early on.

I was one of the biggest Anti-Trump people on this board, but these spineless weasels need to return and eat crow gracefully.

Wolf is a fricking moron who can't ask a question worth a shite without his producer whispering it in his ear. Probably the dumbest person in media, which is saying a lot. No way he has an IQ over 90. He needs to be shite canned.

honestly that was the most fun i've had in years.

I was unable to get to a TV or internet for a lot of election night, so this site and text messages on my phone were my only way to keep track.

Trump really looked like he was in trouble for most of the early portion of election night, at least until 8:00pm - 9:00pm. The "comeback" feeling made his eventual win even sweeter.

The most fun I had earlier in the day was when I was working as a poll watcher for the GOP and forced a precinct judge to move in election sign restrictions that were out about 350-400 feet from the polling station instead of 100' after calling in a deputy sheriff to the polling site. He was pissed! I was actually enjoying it that he was pissed.

When I got home from work, and saw that the exit polling seemed to align with the prediction of hilldawg landslide, I decided I'd just on-demand a movie. I finished the movie around 9:00, and flipped to CNN (CNN just happened to be the last news channel I had looked at for the exit polling before I watched the movie), & I knew immediate, without even hearing a lot of what they were saying, that the night had flipped course just from the look of total shocked on the CNN hosts' faces. I then heard them talking about how Trump actually had a chance in FL and OH, but again their demeanor and the countenance on their faces told the story.

Once it sunk in with me what was potentially going down, I immediately switched to Fox News and their demeanor was also telling of what was going on. And the contrast in the demeanor between the CNN crew (which was one of total shock and unbelief), and the Fox crew (which was one of increasing optimism and the start of some giddiness) was really catching my eye. For the rest of the night I was just switching between the two channels gauging the reactions of both channels as the swing states were being declared. And then by the time the focus had fully switched to WI, MI, & PA you could tell even the CNN crew knew deep down that Trump would grab at least one of them (and thus win the presidency).

To be fair to Maher, he has said that Trump won fair and square and that the Democrats need to take responsibility in losing.

I remember a few of our resident liberals created threads crowning Hillary as the 45th President, but once the results swung in Trump's favor they all scattered like cockroaches.

I think the networks mostly knew about 8:30 or 9:00 pm EST. Fox looked giddy and everyone else looked nervous and sad.
