I'm a conservative, a fan of Trumpism. I frequent r/The_Donald and appreciate all their witty rebuttals and memes. But I find I don't have the agility they (and many of you) do in responding to progressive talking points.

Any tips on how to get educated? TIA.

by Saul Alinsky.

It has shaped the left's strategy and take over of educational/government institutions for decades.

If you want a perfect example of a principled conservative who is impossible to stump go to YouTube and watch Ben Shapiro in his debates/Q and A sessions. He is as good as it gets.

Also, OP, just know= Conservatism and Trumpism aren't tantamount to each other. There are differences.

Just say what's right...as far as policy is concerned, the 10th covers everything outside enumerated powers...

If they want stupid crap at the state level, the constitution doesn't necessarily prevent that.

All the social stupidity is just that...just mind boggling sometimes

There is no short cut to becoming knowledgeable on a wide variety of topics dealing with political ideology.

I did know one girl who was clueless about issues but wanted to be Miss America. She won Miss Louisiana. I saw her at the gym later and asked what her interview question was.

Her: 'Will the massacre at Tiananmen Square stop the freedom movement in China?'

She then repeated her answer and I was very impressed.

Me: How did you learn that?

Her: I multi task. For the last two years while I'm working out I have my headphones on and I listen to Rush Limbaugh. You pick up info on lots of current topics.

You probably can't find any way to win a debate because your talking points are wrong.

Read. A lot.

And I'm not talking internet blogs or media outlets.

Adam Smith, Machiavelli, Locke, Hobbes, Von Mises, Rothbard, Bastiat, Hayek, Rousseau, Mills, Marx, Hegel, Socrates, Plato, Augustine, Kant, Descartes....I could keep going for days. I even swallowed my gag reflex and forced myself to read Keynes just so I could skewer the Keynesian tards.

ETA: Learn a programming language or two and go as far as you can with math. The logic required to be successful at both of these subjects will help the logic of your responses. Symbolic Logic on the Philosophy side of the house is also very effective.

You don't need a book. Here are some tips:

1) reply with an insult (every time). Facts are optional. Say winning and two scoops as much as possible.

2) pay no mind if they are a liberal or republican, always defend Don by calling them dirty lib or something that makes you look like the fricking retard they already believe you to be.

Thomas Sowell has some good books.

The Vision of the Annointed

He gives three questions to ask a progressive for any claim:

What evidence do you have?
Compared to what?
At what cost?

Thanks for all the helpful replies. Will definitely check out Shapiro and Sowell's work. Dunno if I can bring myself to read Alinsky, but I'll see.

And yes, I realize being conservative and a deplorable aren't necessarily interchangeable philosophies!

Yeah, if you want it short and sweet, this is the one. Also read his book "Bullies" for a longer dissection of what he says.
