This afternoon, on a party-line 17-13 vote, Republicans in the Arizona Senate bucked the national trend and gave final approval to SB 1062, a GOP-led bill that would create a special "right" to discriminate against LGBT people on the basis of religion.

Oh Arizona you are always entertaining

We will see if Grandma Jan has the good sense to veto this disaster.

Fine by me.

Apparently, the bill is so broad that you would be allowed to descriminate against anyone you wish.

I have absolutely zero issues with that.

If people want turn down perfectly good money from someone for something as idiotic as their skin color, religion, or sexual orientation, that is their loss.

And they would get decimated by the free market.

I'm more concerned that there are 56 other states where the Government will force store owners to do business against their wishes.

What if a bakery doesn't carry one of these toppers in their shop:

Are you in favor of having the federal government force the bakery to purchase the topper, place it on a wedding cake and sell it to a gay couple?

Are we the most thin-skinned culture in the world?

If someone refuses me service based on a religious belief, I'm not going to get a judge to force them to provide me that service. Understanding and tolerance is a two way street, but we are bound and determined to legislatively block one of those lanes.

Oh goody now the gotchas.

Telling a gay couple that you won't let them buy a wedding cake in your store because your gay is discrimination.

Please feel free to paint your bigotry anyway you want, while hiding behind the guise of religious freedom.

Yup, this could never happen in 2014...amirite?

I mean no one would ever say I can't serve mexicans because it's against my religion to serve coffee to brown people.
