So, they were expecting 180k jobs in August to keep the number at 7.4%, the actual got 169k and revised the previous month from 162k to 104k and still dropped .1%...

Right in line with the stagnant numbers from a year past. Obviously most americans are happy with that since they reelected obama.

With the unemployment rate going down but the participation rate the way it is, would it be safe to say that a lot of the non-participants were never really looking for a job / all that discouraged?

Are you sure that's right? That would be 1950, when very few women worked outside of the home. Last I checked we were at about 1980 levels... If true

The folks that KBR would get ... are more than likely people who are already working.

it is a possibility but not a "safe to say". what makes it more likely however is the ridiculously high level of welfare benefits we now provide.

Let's examine these factors

1) Historically low, labor participation rate
2) Unsustainable growth over a period of 4 years
3) Increased food stamp payment
4) The Democrats call for more taxes

Does any liberal seriously believe our economy is in a turnaround?

re: august jobs numbers
Remember when Bush caught hell on the nightly news for 5.6% UE and all of the "McJobs"? This will be glossed over.

Oh, and a lackey from the obama regime just said it's a good jobs report.

Wouldn't more pressure from the media and subsequently the people lead to action like, maaaybe, a reduction in taxes like both sides agreed to earlier in his administration?

re: august jobs numbers
Whats awesome is the Market goes up because they know the Fed won't stop pumping as long as these reports keep coming out.
