AT&T forcing "Presidential Alerts" to iPhone Customers

Amber alerts started popping on my Verizon phone a few months ago and I quickly turned them off... I wonder if these Presidential Alerts will be abused...

Anyone have information on this? Is this a law that was passed and all carriers will have to do this or is this just an AT&T thing?

If this is their choice, then it makes sense because AT&T is the absolute worst company I have ever dealt with.


Again, I'm curious as to what constitutes a presidential alert... Don't we already have the EBS?

Seriously, I am curious...

If its going to be the EBS' access to phones, then call it that. But what is the purpose of a Presidential Alert?

So even if I turn off amber and emergency alerts it won't stop POTUS alerts or are they just saying we can't stop him from blowing hot air in general?

And thats why I want to know what the purpose of this is... If its just the EBS, then it should be called such
