At least 68 children were among 126 people killed in Saturday's bomb attack on buses carrying evacuees from besieged Syrian towns, activists say.

A vehicle filled with explosives hit the convoy near Aleppo.

Pathetic and sad. However, who's responsible? What will be done?

Whatever stance is taken or actions delivered will be considered wrong.

Also an attack on the Shia minority, which has bore the brunt of the Islamists wrath.

Does 'Rebels' still equal ISIS?

Good question. I heard on the radio someone say, "the rebels and terrorists described in Syria aren't the same as we consider terrorists".

For what it's worth here's an article:

The Syrian military source said the incident showed the rebels' "main aim is not fighting Daesh (Islamic State), but realizing other goals including an attempt to obstruct the Syrian army's operation confronting Daesh".

How does one confront this mess with discourse to end it. They seem to both want to end Islamic State presence but at the same time want to stop each other.

By pulling the restraints on some ROE's and letting military forces do what they are trained to do.

Sure I'll hear about that one. Just my opinion though.

Because what is driving the rebels associated with AQ is the same thing driving ISIS, a Salafi interpretation of what an apostate is, which leads to sectarian violence. It reinforces the belief that Assad is a minority Muslim protecting only minorities at the expense of the Sunni majority, which isn't true. There are plenty of Sunnis who supported the Ba'ath party, and its split wasn't sectarian in origin.

The problem is one that this board doesn't want to admit, namely that the main victims of Islamists are Islamic minorities. The rise of these minorities in Syria, Iraq, and Iran has inflamed the Sunnis elsewhere, which is why foreign fighters flock to Syria, in the belief they are protecting Sunnis.

Solving this issue long term requires the Sunni majority to rethink how it treats its minority populations. In the short term it requires the West to side on the side of the minorities for once, and not the Gulf Arab supported rebels. The latter won't happen though.

If I'm not mistaken this is the anti Assad fighters that did this. We don't need to get involved, that whole country is fricked and there are no good options.

I doubt the Russian and Assad Regime ROE's are all that restrictive.

Okay, the "Assad bombed his own people," idea failed so on to the next atrocity by the Deep State.
